I'm not sure if your "no idea" is referring to the "GO!" or the "turn it up", but the latter is from the beginning of this. I have a feeling this one's well known and I may just be spouting uselessness, but just in case. Edit: quoted because next page.
I was adding Duran Duran songs when this particular track caught my attention. It sounds like Sonic 1 Final Boss theme: http://youtu.be/8NF6Qa84mno http://youtu.be/13EF8jdEI5c
The original sample of California Love by 2Pac. http://youtu.be/1PmRNUToamI http://youtu.be/uWbXQQG9B6c
I don't usually add to utter speculation like this, but the melody (of specific parts) of these two songs are identical: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpj6usGHF-w (From the chorus, but essentially from 2:34) and (From 0:47) My brother noted this when I was playing Sonic 2. It's pretty stunning! It's probably a coincidence, but still interesting!
In Japan it seems that borrowing on a level that we might consider to be plagiarism is far less frowned upon. Dreams Come True straight up lifts basslines and riffs from Earth Wind & Fire, Cheryl Lynn, Barry White, and so on, so it's not totally out of the question that Masa/Miwa was influenced by this song when composing Sweet Sweet Sweet. That said, it doesn't seem like a very hard riff to come by independently. Really interesting find, though.
Have you heard the lyrics for that song? If they ain't singing about Sonic Blast, then I don't know what they're singing about.
Okay guys. I've been looking at some Kanye West samples lately, and I find something that strikes a bearing resemblence to the Super Mario Land Overworld song and also the Sonic 3 Bonus Stage Theme! Super Mario Land Overworld http://youtu.be/9_-HvB3zbC4 38 Seconds in Chairmen of the Board - Bittersweet http://youtu.be/cta48KVs4bA?
The main theme of Sonic OVA Mimanía - Las mil y una noches (0:30) Spoiler Don't get it?, here's a small mashup I did on audacity: Here.
Hi, Im sure everyone knows about the Jetzons - Hard times/Ice Cap Zone connection (if not, go youtube it), well, did another Jetzons song called When the Sun Comes Down inspire Marble Garden? heres the song: Here's a mashup I made of the 2 tracks: The tracks arnt as perfectly matched as HT/ICZ but pretty close if you ask me!
Whoa, really does sound similar! Though maybe not as much as Hard Times/Ice Cap. I wonder if it's just a coincidence... Either way, good catch! Edit: Ha! "when the sun goes down" is a pretty fitting name for this zone.
Did it, but still can't I only hear both theme clashing ...that is what I hear always with mashups anyways. Maybe it's just me, no offense intended.
It's really just one of those cases of looking for things that aren't there. Nowhere near the similarity shared between the Ice Cap track, doubting there's a connection.
Who knows, Buxter might have been thinking of this subconsciously. It isn't clear cut like Hard Times, though. Either way, I do like the mashup. Thanks!
OH WOW A SONG FROM A PARTICULAR STYLING SOUNDS SOMEWHAT LIKE ANOTHER SONG FROM THAT SAME PARTICULAR STYLING ALERT RETRO RIGHT NOW edit: retro HQ needs a fire alarm bell right smack in the middle of the building so that whenever someone discovers something like this he/she drops whatever they are doing immediately, zooms to the bell and rings it like a maniac to alert everyone as quickly as possible to the situation
lol newb, do a bit of history, do you even know who I am? It was merely an observation, I already said they don't match up perfectly, but the synth bassline is pretty similar (plus y'know, SAME COMPOSER)
This sounds like it would fit perfectly in Tidal Tempest or Rusty Ruin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELFW7UUUkM8 From the same album, this sounds like it came from Collision Chaos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31Q-0fbJla4
