I've got one that is going to blow your minds: T-Square - Travelers http://youtu.be/Io7ZSaB3sXg particularly around 1:30 Guiles Theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLJLyneZGKc
This sounds like Angel Island if it had been in Sonic Triple Trouble: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtYHPdCnokU&feature=share&list=PL9B49C729836916E3
Interestingly, the song that plays afterward sort of sounds like parts of Sonic Advance's Angel Island.

There's one advert in Estonia what has REALLY similar music to Sonic music, the instruments used at certain time are 1:1 Listen this one a bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-HcKdOSmkU And then listen this video from 00:15 http://vimeo.com/62875158 Everytime I hear that Dynamiit video on TV, I always feel like it's from Sonic & Sega all star racing. It's sooo similar. At first I thought they ripped it from Sonic and put it into the energy juice video, but it's still tiny bit different. But the "sounding" is very 1:1
This is probably well known already, but I just noticed it and it blew my mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRVL4glkzCg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5caIjg9UHk "Listen Closely, Approach Me, Sucka' punch me, Those who try to treat me like greater than *something* possible, I cut a sucka' in small chunks, spit more rhymes than Michael Jordan makes slam... dunks!"
xD I've always thought of the Mission Impossible theme every time I listened to Chaos ver. 6. BTW that's my favorite theme of Chaos too. :3
I only post once a year, but this one's been bugging me for ages, and I don't know if anyone's posted it. We all know Ristar's level 5-2, but here it is for reference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lmqwO_4rBI The point I'm talking about is at 00:39, although, really, there is a good amount of resemblance in the rhythm and the bass to this song; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iQl46-zIcM Soul II Soul's Keep on Movin' done back in '89. If you match the section of the Ristar song up to 1:35 in this song, the chords are quite similar, although the chords in the Soul II Soul song are more diverse throughout the rest of the song. After that breakdown at 1:35, Soul II Soul's song conforms much closer to the chords in the Ristar song. Since this kind of music was pretty popular at the time, I can see why the composers/arrangers in Ristar may have drawn inspiration from this song. [/longwinded worthless conjecture]
Kinda off topic, but I found a drum machine that was used on Sonic CD US. I believe one machine they used was the Yamaha RY30. I found a collection of loops from a sample cd I have and this was one of them. Here's one that jumped out immediately. From: I got this one from the Ueberschall Techno Identity Developer Kit cd. It was probably a preset loop or something from the drum machine. Not sure though.
Noticed this a while back, the chord progression is almost exactly the same. (You can find my mash-up here)
Read a random "you know this sounds like" comment on youtube, decided to check it out. Sure enough, the random person was on to something: The above was made in 2008 I think.
This comparison may have been made here already, but Stardust Speedway and this song from Goemon 64 sound too damn similar. Thus I've already gone and made a mashup.
I'm pretty sure in 25 pages, someone made this comparison Janet Jackson: Together Again Bridge Zone BUT WAIT! Together Again and Bridge Zone both sound quite a bit like Tails' theme from SA: Believe in Myself. It's not as close of a matchup as Smooth Criminal or Who Is It and Icecap Act 1, but there is some resemblance. EDIT: I found some even more interesting resemblances!
