    creating the biggest sonic collection
That's just inertia and centripetal physics. If the plane goes forward without Sonic running, he'll fall off, but if he runs while the plane moves, as in Sonic 2, he'll stay on via conservation of momentum. It's very similar to how in knight rider, he drives the car into the semi truck at 55 mph.

Eggman's rogue robots. I know he can't control the eldrich abominations he keeps trying to use, but you'd think with Omega, Gamma, and Metal Sonic that he would put a remote kill switch or override to make sure they didn't do something like take over his air fleet. Actually, now that I think about it, Eggman tends to give his creations a tad to much free will. For example, why would he give a single Egg Robo and Metal (Mecha?) Sonic all the resources he had for his first Angel Island invasion. (In fact, what was he doing during Knuckles' story in Sonic 3&K?)

Also: Knuckles' gliding. With Tails, at least we have a semi-justification, but I think the best we had for Knuckles was that he catches the air under his dreadlocks to glide. By that logic, most Rastafarians should be find if they jump off a bridge unassisted. Also, the dredlocks explanation doesn't make sense for how he glides underwater.

The Advance games, if I remember correctly, fixed this by showing that he actually swims through water, at least.

How can the squirrels walk on lava in Marble Zone? :v:

Also, how the fuck did Eggman ever think that Spiker was a good idea for a badnik? =P I looked for the comic someone made with words to this effect, but couldn't find it.

He also swam through water in Sonic Adventure 2! :eng101:

Though it was only used in two levels, one of those being 20% of a full stage.

Why does Eggman destroy the badniks guarding his Hidden Base in SA2's Sand Ocean, and for that matter why do they attack him? Also, why is everything G.U.N.-branded if they are anti-Eggman?

Uh, the GUN robots specifically don't belong to Eggman. That's the point of them. If they release animals when destroyed then Eggman made them. If they release Chaos Drives, then GUN made them.

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
Better question then. If G.U.N knows where Eggman's base is, why are they just putting some dinky little robots there? Full scale assault wasn't an option?

I'm assuming that G.U.N. is a caricature of the U.S. government and therefore, shares their incompetence. Explains why they send that giant truck to chase after Sonic while destroying Station Square in the process! :v:

Maybe they just sent out a bunch of searcher bots throughout the city/country/world to locate him and some of them happened to end up there?

  11. Maybe they don't have the resources to spare, and it's possible Eggman has some sort of defense system to stop anything too large entering his base.

And at the time, they're focusing more on Sonic than Eggman, he may be a criminal but at the moment in time Sonic is the top priority.

In Sonic 4 ep 2 Special stage, when Tails jumps out from the ring, his tails are still while Tails rotates around. It looks weird and makes no sense,it's like his tails it off his body and hover. :P.

  14. Here's one. Why does Eggman bother using animals to power his machines? Surely, you can't be getting that much power from a single squirrel or bluebird. Hasn't the man ever heard of double-A batteries?

Then again, wouldn't it be funny if the next Sonic game had huge solar panels duct-taped to all of the enemy robots for electricity?

Comics from the Mind of Yours Truly, A little workshop of animation, Sonic FreeRunner
After one quick search through the Retro database, it appears... that for once, Speedstar isn't full of shit. Huh. My mind is blown!

But now we've got gods dating all the way back into the old school canon and that just strikes me as stupid! But, and if you'll listen, wouldn't this version of the story be null and void since that's what popped into Japan's manuals in a game that was primarily developed by a North America housed team? By default, when Naka brought his team over to North America, all of the Japanese canon was garbage in comparison to what was written here in the west. Besides, those manuals treat the stories like... well, legends. Therefore, Sonic Adventure should have no standing chance here.

And with this, I don't have to put up with idiots trying to prove to me that Adventure has some sliver of a chance of being with the same universe as games like Sonic CD and S3K. [/probably denial; Going Mad From the Revelation]

In the third level of the Underground zone in Sonic 2 for SMS Robotnik saves Sonic from falling to his death in the lava only to put him in a much more survivable situation involving the Sarlacc from Star Wars and a bunch of balls. That always bothered me as a kid, why not just let him burn to death if he's just going to go through all this effort trying to kill him? D: .

Because that would be too quick and take out all the fun. If I built a killing machine, I'd make damn sure I was going to use it.

EDIT: derp new phone retarded no speel correckt.

I took it as an insight into Robotnik's dependancy on Sonic. He needs someone to challenge him and try to wreck his plans apart, just like Sonic needs and antagonist to save the world from.

Sonic and Robontik have a co-dependant relationship.

Also, the plot of the game was a hostage situation where Sonic was bringing the Chaos Emeralds in exchange for releasing Tails. Dead Sonic = have to get them himself. Stupid, I know, but that's how I always rationalized it.
