And funnily enough, it's a link to all 1337 blog posts tagged with "music". It's not a joke, you're just looking far too much into it.

 

This doesn't warrant it's own topic yet cause there's literally nothing to it, but have a 20th Anniversary teaser.


Didn't know where else to post this.

 

I think the background of that site is the first time I see Chaotix or Shuffle mentioned in recent times.

Is there a general lack of Spinball on that site, or is just me that can't see it?

Any idea what's written in the pop-up that appears when you click the logo on the center. Maybe there is some info on when SEGA will announce something.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but have any of you notice that AoSTH Robotnik's eyes look kinda like Metal Sonic's eyes?

 

Not exactly related, but what is that weird little black and white mess of pixels at the bottom of that page? I've been seeing it everywhere lately, and I can't exactly google it because I have no idea what to call it.

Now for the related part. What exactly is it supposed to be? I clicked a button and got a window full of Japanese text, and then some Sonic game covers popped up in the background and nothing happened. What does the Japanese text say?

So I was switchin characters around in SA2:B using Action Replay, I found out something that startled me.

It happened when I was playing as Chaos 0 in Radical Highway.

I know from many attempts that certain gimmicks in the levels will crash the game if characters other than the type made for it touch the object. An example would be if a character other than the racers touches a vine in Green Forest/White Jungle, the game will crash.

As I was playing Chaos 0, I accidentally hit a bouncer I knew would throw me into a Pole, one such object that only certain characters can touch. I braced myself for the annoying crash buzzer...

...but it never came. I looked up, and Chaos 0 was SWINGING ON THE POLE. LIKE NORMAL. I was shocked. I figured this was simply a one-time glitch in the game in which it didn't crash. But I did it again, and it worked FINE.

I was baffled. Every other non-racer had caused a crash at a pole, but not Chaos. This made me ponder if ANYTHING ELSE worked for him.

I went to Green Forest with him to test my theory. I hit a vine. Chaos spun around the tree! He didn't go anywhere after, but he did go around the tree!

I think he may have been a speed character at one point, but they never got around to finishing him! When the alternate gameplay styles were introduced, they changed his moveset, and added him to the Treasure Hunter roster instead!

What do you all make of this?

 

I've read 2P-object interactions discussed before, and no consensus was reached. I believe Rouge can also swing on the poles.

 

It's very interesting looking at this when you take this into consideration:

For Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic = Shadow, Knuckles = Rouge, Tails = Eggman, as far as overall gameplay goes.

The following game, Rouge became more equivalent to Tails, with the shiny new E-123 Omega being the new equivalent to Knuckles.

 

And come '06, Omega was totally his own thing with Rouge being the middle ground between Knuckles and Tails.

 

So as I was hacking Sonic 1 SMS I came across this:

Notice the stars? I've only noticed this on the Special Stage results screen and I don't recall seeing the stars anywhere else. (The stars in the special stage background are bigger.)
