  1. Is there something I can use as a reference for the original airdates of individual Sonic SatAM episodes?

Find the info yourself and reference it.

Speaking of SatAM, can people get me any and all info on anything SatAM? I just finished downloading unused music for Season 1 of the show and when I looked at our Ben Hurst article and noticed how absolutely abysmal it was, I noticed that it says the community has done several interviews with him, but they are from as far back as 2005.

Any and all help for info for literally anyone who worked on SatAM would be grand.

  3. I don't know where to look for this information, though. All I know is that both Sonic Retro and Wikipedia seem to use the rec.arts.animation newsgroup for references, but I'm not sure how reliable all of these are. For example, this thread is used as a source for Heads or Tails airing on 1993-11-27, since that's the Saturday before the first post, but the third post claims it was "supposedly shown last summer (thought I missed it somehow)". Should I still use rec.arts.animation as a source, or is there a better source of information for initial airdates.

The most reliable sources would be the American TV Guide books for those weeks.

How one would find those, or how easy they can be obtained is a whole other matter though.

    RaginRonic did the research: https://board.sonicstadium.org/topic/26883-the-correct-satam-season-1-abc-broadcast-order/

    http://www.sonicsatam.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18085

There are several newsgroup posts where they talk about what aired that week and/or the previous week. For the "missing" episodes there's an episode list that Dan Drazen posted on 7 July 1995, which fills in the gaps: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.arts.animation/c/QcA-8jTClKg/m/097UZa75VCAJ

Dan Drazen's episode order lines up with the known broadcast order from previous posts, so seems to be reliable.

Super Sonic was definitely the first broadcast episode, there was a preview of it the night before:

Here's the broadcast of the episode itself, including Sonic promoting the premiere of Tales from the Cryptkeeper over the end credits:

There's these two archived on the wiki itself.
Ben Hurst interview at SAGExpo (July 3, 2005) - Sonic Retro
Ben Hurst interview at SAGExpo (August 27, 2006) - Sonic Retro
they're more AMAs than interviews, but they do still give some insight into how Ben thought.

The same poster said something similar in this thread from 9 Aug 1993: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.arts.animation/c/W9THJArSjP8/m/4U6b4ZL_WXkJ

The sales card mentions 12 episodes and 1 special (presumably Heads or Tails). As we can see from the news group, Heads or Tails was broadcast as part of the 13 episode run. If Heads or Tails ever did air in the summer of 1993, prior to the 18 September 1993 premiere, then there's no evidence of it.

    Another post of interest: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.arts.animation/c/vh_sBVMXwVU/m/e4SiuG1J6s4J

    https://freep.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog&ymd=1993-09-26

In case anyone wants to sign up for that, it would be worth having on the wiki.

I searched Newspapers.com for Sonic the Hedgehog and didn't find any TV listings prior to AOSTH and STH premiering in September, so it looks like Heads or Tails airing as a special didn't happen. Unless it was a segment of a larger program? Still, no evidence of that.

There are some relevant articles though:
https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1992-04-21 Sonic the Hedgehog in development for ABC

https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1992-10-23 Another article, about AOSTH? Mentions 65 episodes

    https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1992-11-02 Another article

https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1993-01-21 This article mentions Art Mawhinney working on the cartoon, so should be of interest

    https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query="Art+Mawhinney"&ymd=1993-05-23 Another about Art Mawhinney

https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1993-05-25 Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog article

    https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1993-07-08 Another article, both shows

    https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=sonic+hedgehog+dic&ymd=1993-07-11 Another article

https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query="Art+Mawhinney"&ymd=1993-09-11 "Local firm brings 'Sonic' to life" (Art Mawhinney again, with a big Sonic image)

Back to the news group, this post from 11 Aug 1993 is also of historical interest: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.arts.animation/c/rVpg2cbZpT4/m/LQm-VTBK_tQJ

We've seen (unfortunately incomplete) cam footage of the unused Sonic intro playing at the show, but this confirms that the AoSTH intro was also being played. It's also possibly the earliest instance of anyone associating the term "SatAM" with ABC's Sonic cartoon.

Interesting...wonder how far away we are from some concrete info on this game through official channels, that being the case.

Release date for Origins would be great. I need to know if it will be out in time for my nieces' birthday party.

    "The next Sonic game"

The cynic in me says they mean Origins because Frontiers would probably be a holiday release.

Even the cynic in me can't see them calling the collection " the next game" , cause they are "games" , and they can just call it by it's name cause it's revealed, unlike frontiers that is technically not revealed yet
