Ok, filtered Instagram pics are cute and all but this really needs a proper scan...

 

In this interview Duncan Gutteridge mentions being commissioned by Sega of Europe to do the cover art for Sonic Triple Trouble.

But the European release of Sonic Triple Trouble uses the same Greg Martin art as the American release.

Anyone know what the deal with this is? Is there some unused Sonic Triple Trouble cover art out there somewhere?

 

Archive.org recently got a full-ish set of UK Official Dreamcast Magazine scans. Soon they will be ours (except for 1, 13 and 17 because there were missing pages and I can't be bothered to deal with that).


Hoping to confirm or deny things I remember about Sonic Adventure 2's development, among other things, but they're 300MB+ a piece and I think my ISP might be throttling me.

It's frustrating because again, the claim is made without an actual associated quote from Naka. But at this point, between the gameplay styles being named after these original 3 characters in the game's actual code and so much hearsay it's hard not to see this as the original vision for the title.

 

Then of course you add that one trailer on top (the one with Sonic in Sky Rail) that only shows those three...

the Sonic Adventure review in issue #0 is probably written by Charlie Brooker of Wipe and Black Mirror fame (and A Touch of Cloth).

 

Apparently the Game Center CX Symphony in Moscow took place on May 17, and somebody decided the ideal experience would be to have the Kach? play the PAL version of Sonic & Knuckles (badly) while the orchestra performs their rendition of Mushroom Hill Zone 1.

 

I don't think there's room to doubt here, since it seems they got in touch with Yuji Naka himself, and everything is consistent with what we know about the development of Sonic Adventure 2.

The 3D model was first used on ODM Sonic Adventure review and also the Dream on CD that had a Sonic Adventure Demo.

About the cast comment: I wonder if they were just basing it of the trailer. Also, the statement is true: Only Sonic, Eggman and Knuckles remained from Sonic Adventure. Amy, Gamma and Big weren't playable and Tails came back in a radically different from.

I hope someone saved all that Fang the Sniper concept art posted last page and this one, because I was trying to see it now and it's all gone.
