Yeah, Casino Night tubes are dodgy. I took this the other night, quoting from the S2 16th Anniv. thread:
I just noticed something using the slow-motion feature on Sonic 3. When you leave Sonic still, he'll start tapping his foot, then he'll point to the player (though it looks more like he's giving you the finger), then point to the right. But something I never noticed before was that after that, he kind of holds his hands out to the side a little bit like he's asking the player "What's the hold up?". Any of you really tech-savy people: Look into this. See if you can find the sprite.
Just a little bit of Trivia, but all of Sonic R's level begin with the Letter "R" ...Also, what does the "R" mean in the title, Sonic Race?
I've read almost every post under here and no one has metioned the music glitch in Sonic2. If you play Sky Chase Zone's BGM (#0D), follow by the extra life jingle (#18), and if you quickly go to #72 or #73 and press either "B" or "C", when Sky Chase Zone's music fades back in, it speeds up. Certain songs in the sound test speed up, but others slow down (by playing #18, followed by either #72 or #73). Now if someone has metioned this before, I'm sorry for repeating it.
That's... not a glitch. Those particular sound test slots control the Speed Shoes tempo increase—$72 speeds the music up, and $73 slows it back down for when the speed shoes run out.
Oh, I didn't know it wasn't a glitch. But if you do this, the music plays slightly faster than it would if you had the speed shoes. Here is a download: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ece56a0...2db6fb9a8902bda
<!--quoteo(post=195403:date=May 17 2008, 09:50 AM:name=MoI)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MoI @ May 17 2008, 09:50 AM) I'm going to take a guess and say it doesn't know what boss sequence to load up, but I'm not a techguy so its probably not accurate.[/quote] This happens because the game decides to load Sonic and Tails' boss for Blue Knuckles (I assume that the boss check is checking whether the character is equal to Knuckles rather than not less than, as Blue Knuckles is 04). When the game loads up S/T's boss, it at the same time loads the new screen lock, including a bottom lock which is below S/T's boss arena but above Knuckles' boss arena. Thus, Knuckles is all of a sudden considered to be in a bottomless pit, and dies.
Quoting an old post but... I thought $7B and $7C were the tempo changes. This comes from using the Sound Test.
I posted a while back in this topic about the glitch with the MHZ2 boss. So here's a Youtube video of it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fdbEF8_T1qM Read the video description for in-depth info.
You can do it as normal Sonic with the lightning shield, too. Just approach from the hiddden upper area (accomplished through taking the pump elevator on the LEFT).
Ah, I did get into that area once, but forgot how to do it. Thanks for explaining that. But why do you need to approach from that area to cause the glitch? It seems too far away for it to make a difference.
Well, you do that so you have enough altitude when you reach him and still jump. Using that mushroom method may not work for normal Sonic because he can't bounce off the boss like that; it's for no other reason than that area is higher up.
Well, yes, that's the point, you aren't invincible. But I would have thought that if you spindash-jumped out of the higher platform it wouldn't land you on top of the boss...
I must try that sometime - I'd assumed the Sonic + lightning shield method would involve jumping on the boss as usual and then lightning jumping after a number of hits.
Not sure if this is a glitch.. Not sure how to explain this. I was on the last level in Sonic Heroes using Team Dark. I used their Team Blast, Chaos control, which stops time for a few seconds. I pressed a switch to activate a pole which Shadow uses Black Tornado to spin on. Now, I thought I had to wait until Chaos control finished to use it, because even though I'd pressed the switch, the pole hadn't moved up. Whilst waiting, I used Black tornado, and the span around the pole as if the pole had risen. Not sue what to think of that.
