I always thought it was implied that SegaSonic was a prequel, given that Sonic and co run away from Robotnik in the intro rather than attack.

The fact that this was real made me laugh way more than it should have.

Mike Pollock tweeted about that yesterday, incidentally. I must admit it made me laugh =P

    Something interesting.

A demo for Sonic Riders was released in the 34th release of the Gamecube Multidisc demo series. The game seems final, but they accidentally included one file they shouldn't have. There's a .plf (elf) file for the Main.rel file that contains the entire symbol list for the module. Dropping it in something like IDA Pro can give you a nice layout of the module:

You can download the file here.

The file doesn't exist in the final release. I wonder what other games might do this?

This was probably posted ages ago. But I was looking at some Japanese Sega Preview vids and noticed this preview of Sonic & Tails/Sonic Chaos on GG. Not much different except for the sky in Turquoise Hill, and the Master System music being used.

Another vid shows Gigalopolis with the SMS music, a slightly different boss, and a different end of level jingle.

Apparently the working title was Sonic the Hedgehog 3

If this has already been noticed, apologies in advance! :D

(EDIT: Also, the Sonic CD remix from Gems Collection was originally used in this preview. Guess it was older than I thought!)

I was gonna mention that at some point (laziness prevails). I guess that explains the "CD Sonic The Hedgehog" lyric heard in the song.

Wow, I never knew that! I thought it was just made for Gems Collection. How old are the other songs, do we know?

Would like to know this too :)/> It can't have been made for that one video surely, as those previews tend to just use the BGMs from the games.

And here was us all thinking, years ago, that it was called Sonic CD 6290 Mix because it uses sound elements from that prototype, when in actuality it existed at the same time!

    Just noticed something:

Anyone else see Gamma's laser near the left in this image? It looks like someone took a screenshot of Gamma in the old Windy Valley and pasted a prerender of Big over it.

Game Grumps has compelled me to play Shadow The Hedgehog again, but now I'm having trouble with something.

Does anyone know how to enable progressive scan in the PS2 version (greatest hits edition)? I have the component cable and I do hold down X + Triangle upon boot up, but nothing happens. There isn't even an option in the options menu to enable, even though there are sites I find though Google that confirm such capability.

So I was able to get all 3 volumes of the Sonic 1 manga and it got me thinking, is there two versions of the manga with different covers? Because the ones I got look like this:

But somehow I was expecting this:

Yeah, I noticed that too some time ago, but I have no real info on why are there two versions of it nor which differences they have...

Your version features the prototype Sonic design with shorter top spine, so my guess is that it's a bit earlier than the other.

I think that makes sense, I don't know how the manga was distributed, but somehow I think my version was given out for free at events since they are not hard covers. And the other version was sold??? Or given out through other means.

I think one of those versions was given away with an officially SEGA-endorsed Japanese magazine, but I'm not sure I've ever seen any more specific info about it.

Good God, them blue arms... Sonic had blue arms as early as in 1991. You cannot get any more classic than that! :v:

The screenshot is also mirrored horizontally. But yes, that is exactly what happened, a render of big being slapped on top of a screenshot.
