Okay, thanks! That's what I needed to know!
So I was screwing around in Sonic CD. Something I never really noticed until just recently was that if you charge up a peel out, and then right about when you let go of the peel out but before you go anywhere slide down and hold down down, you move forward some and then go into a spindash, which is hilarious if you do it right before a loop, as you can basically be in the spinning position on the inside side-wall of the loop. Fun.
I'd upload a video to youtube, but my computer is being retarded and not cooperating.
That's one of the first things I noticed when I first did a peel-out. o_O
So I was screwing around with Debug on Sonic 3K, and I entered Knuckle's final boss as Sonic, and beat it. I watched a video where someone else had done this and ended up with a Blue Knuckles in the end scene. Going into debug before the plane came up gave me that. Not doing so gave me Super Knuckles But, I hit "B" twice, and I had a screwed up Super Sonic standing where Knuckles was. With Super Knuckles colors. I hit it over and over again, evetually getting a red Sonic as Sonic was pulling the plane away from the island. Attempting Super/Hpe here will do nothing. I kept going, and got a light-blue Sonic with blue sneakers. Going Hyper Sonic from here gives you a messed up Super with S-Knuckles colors again, but with blue sneakers, and also makes the edges of the clouds flash red.
Just felt like sharing it.
You may want to read this topic...
It's not really a finding perse, just something that happened that I felt like sharing because I thought the colors it gave sonic were interesting. That and, I didn't waste everyone's time by starting a pointless topic about it. I just put it here right off.
1994? What does that text say?
With a bit of help from Google's language tools it looks something like
"You've come to a special zone. Continue more of the full life! Happy Anniversary!"
In the Sonic and Knuckles bad lock-on or "Get Blue Sphere" screen, "NO WAY!" outnumbers "NO WAY?" three to one.
Just throwin' that out there.
This one was actually found by Puto but he never posted this here.
Knuckles' animation ID for the victory pose in Sonic (3) & Knuckles is the same as Sonic's animation ID for the canceled leaping animation in Sonic 1;
Knuckles' animation ID for the "falling down in MGZ" pose in Sonic (3) & Knuckles is the same as Sonic's animation ID for the canceled shrinking animation in Sonic 1.
Coincidences? Maybe. But this can also be yet another subtle confirmation of the intended usage of those two unused animations in Sonic 1. SEGA maybe has a pattern here, even after two games and a half.
Probably because the ? was supposed to be a subtle hint to try pressing things =P
It says "You've reached the special stage... But you're still full of life. Happy Birthday!"
Sounds like a birthday card to me.
Actually, it's "You've come to a special zone. But you're still full of life! Happy Birthday!"
Google Translator sucks for portuguese.
Just something I noticed, but if you get 50 rings in S3&K's slot machine bonus stage, you seem to get a continue.
I thought they even said this was possible in the menu. Note that this only applies for the standing rings in that level, not the slot machine.
Or if you use the slot machine and then grab a ring if you have over 50. I never had the manual for S&K so again, apologies if it's common knowledge =P
I was playing through Sonic 3K a few days ago on Fusion and I was playing as Knuckles in Hydrocity Zone. It was all going pretty good - 4 Emeralds, quite a few lives compared to what I usually do, etc. - and I'm in Act 2, on the moving platforms underwater when I hit jump and Knuckles just rolls in place. So I save a savestate and open it in Gens - same thing happens. When I tried as Sonic and Tails, they jumped as usual. I've never seen this before; is it an emulator bug in both Gens and Fusion?
