Yeup, that's it. With Unleashed being based on real world locations, Angkor Wat in Cambodia is the obvious best bet for Adabat inspiration. Other ones include:
    Shamar = Petra, Jordan
    Apotos = Mykonos, Greece
Mazuri = Great Mosque of Djenné, Mali
Empire City = New York City, USA
Chun-nan = The Great Wall of China
Spagonia = Somewhere from southern Europe. I've never been sure, but I'd always guess it was Bologna in Italy considering the name (Bolognese and Spaghetti)
Holoska = Alaska or anywhere else way up north.

  2. I agree with you, but using Splash Hill wouldn't be all so bad if it wasn't the sound of dying felines. I mean, I'm sure the demographic that watches these parades finds dying kittens to be abhorrently unacceptable.

    Speaking of inspirations,
I wonder if Mephiles was intended to resemble molten/ignited sulfur as apposed to crystal? Of note this Indonesian sulfur mine located in a volcano.

Then again, a lot of villains are made of glowing purple crystal-goop.

Are the screenshots on the left from multiple episodes or a single one? Coincidence? Aliens?

Richard caught that immediately and was pretty pissed by how much of the same that episode is to Ghost Busted.

Not much here that we don't already know, but interesting to find the blog page for the people who did the humans in Sonic Unleashed.
They also did all the new characters that appeared in Night of the Werehog:

    Again, might already be known.

Just won a complete set of Sonic collectors cards on eBay made by Topps in 1993. It looks as if a lot of cards feature beta pics from Sonic 1.

Is this documented or should I fire the scanner up when they arrive?

I've seen those posted before, sometime, somewhere....but they don't seem to be on the wiki. (well, only the one featuring Splats)

So it would be nice to see the rest again.

Ok well I'll scan them when they turn up. I'm only going by the pictures taken of the cards on the auction.

So far I've seen the use of Ring instead of Rings and the sideways spike crushing thing in Marble Zone.

Just an update. The cards arrived.

Although there's a lot of screenshots used where the counter says Ring instead of Rings I cannot see any differences.

The only unusual picture is Marble Zone with the sideways 3-pronged spike/crusher.

There's some art work on the cards that I haven't seen before but nothing mind blowing.

I don't have access to a scanner at the moment but if anyone is desperate to see the cards I can snap some pictures.

    Working on my art!
    Good choice Steam, good choice.

Sonic Generations on PC with full power is full awesome. This steam box may be worth it... if it can use mods.

Really long arse time to reply to anything. I did find these samples from Funk Drummer on the Synthmania website. At least one of those is from QQ, and a couple other loops I remember as being part of the data files?

Sonic HQ's now decade old Q/A is back, at least as an archive.

    Relive the greats such as:

"Some one I know keeps on telling me that Tails is a Girl! Please tell me with good strong facts if Tails is a boy or a girl. I need this question answered. PLEASE!!! Sincerely, Sonic J."

"My friend says that in Sonic Heros that thare is a bee named Charmy.I don't belive him!!"

    And the ever popular:

"On the Carnival level in sonic 3 how do you get to robotnic?"

I asked this one ten long years ago. I remember specifically typing the "u" and "Thanx" to try to look cool. Looking back on this is as embarrassing as it is hilarious.

EDIT: Oh God, found another one from 2005.
"Hardcore Rebel" was my 2edgy4u wrestling gimmick I made up.

I imagine Riders and others probably would increase this snippet even longer.

+ - I had completely forgotten about Metal Sonic's here, it was glorious.
