There was a topic not too long ago about Sonic title card fonts being spotted in the wild. Here's one used to advertise a Sega arcade game back in 1980 http://segaretro.org/File:SpaceTrek_Arcade_DE_Flyer1.jpg and yeah you wouldn't find publicity shots like these anymore!
Saw this while watching Breaking Bad. Season 4 ep. 4 (approx 36 minutes in): Edit: Dear Lord, Sonic '06! Season 4 ep. 11 (32 minutes in):
SADX is red, meaning while there are some shared staff, we're(CRV is) only barely sure. Secret Rings is marked in grey, meaning we're somewhat sure — but we(Retro) already had them listed on our wikis as the developer of party mode games so that's a moot point. What is interesting to me is the entries on the three developers there that we have pages for have credits for games not listed on the GDRI page...
Sonic 3D Blast [Megadrive/Genesis]: After doing the "baracuda" code, aside from being able to skip levels, if you are in a special stage and do a+start you automatically get the emerald. [Too lazy to see if it has been mentioned]
According to their website, a Japanese game developer called Polygon Magic assisted with the PS3 version of Sonic 2006. The English site doesn't say what; the Japanese site says "開発内容:背景モデリング", which I think means they assisted with background art (someone correct me on that if I am wrong).
Something I noticed today when going for the good ending in Chaotix is that the colour of the chaos rings match the characters, except Charmy. Yellow - Tails Green - Vector Pink - Knuckles Purple - Espio Blue - Sonic Also in the ending Sonic has peach legs.
Thanks. I came across this company while filling out our Treasure page and noticed the first Bleach Wii game isn't on Treasure's site... In other news, Sega of Japan is listing a "Sonic Free Riders Xbox 360 Platinum Collection" (ソニック フリーライダーズ Xbox 360reg; プラチナコレクション) release for next month (alongside a Platinum Edition of Virtual-On Force) (mods: feel free to move to the Free Riders topic if desired, unless you can't split posts)
Nice find, Squirrel! I also notice that flyer has the "odd" G seen on some of the Gremlin/Sega flyers like Deep Scan and Invinco. Anyone ever figure out if that was an official logo or just a regional error (obviously the Space Trek flyer is German, so that's another point for that theory)?
It was in a topic not too long ago but I forget which one http://fontek.fateback.com/dan_solo_art_deco_display_alphabet.htm A lot of these early flyers, especially if not produced by Sega themselves, use a much older typeface from 1968 - DXS Yagi Double. The "real" Sega font was developed in-house, and I'm guessing was much harder to prise from the hands of the Japanese at the time. NiseSega is a fan re-creation but it gets the job done
Well that link was definitely interesting... Roco (which their index says "is a wider version of Grock") might be an exact match for the Sonic 2 title card font, the old Treco logo looks like Shady Deal (which is funny), and Wani Wani World appears to use Bobo Bold...
