Regardless, an awful lot of Sonic games end with Sonic falling from space and Tails catching him on a plane. Given the plane is shown moving horizontally in all instances this is effectively the same as hitting the ground, but Sonic seems to be fine with it either way. Fall damage just doesn't exist in the Sonic universe.

 

The biggest problem with this is that the dialogue is hidden nine minutes into the fight, so most playthroughs don't have it, and Windii's videos don't seem to have it for some reason either? I can't seem to see it in the four videos they have up.

I'll either try and find a playthrough that stretches Devil Doom that long or find a Japanese copy of Shadow the Hedgehog and get it myself once I've the time.

 

If you want something pre-Shadow falling into earth, Sonic falls from the sky two times during Adventure.

They are treated as funny moments, but he still tanks them despite falling from a high distance.

Same with just jumping from a helicopter earlier in the game.

They're just built different than us.

 

If the fall itself wasn't a reason to think Shadow's dead, why think he's dead? Why think he's going to disappear when he loses his super form? Maybe the loss of his super form in that manner is what led to his memory loss?

Another option for Shadow's memory loss could be Eggman himself. It seems he had plans for him with everything he did with the androids. Perhaps wiping his memory was a step to have Shadow under his control or an unforseen accident.

 

I only heard it out loud (don't fully trust my perception), but seemed to me Eggman said the same as in the english version.

I finally played Frontiers, Superstars and SxS Generations. I went back 400 pages in this thread to see what i have missed.

I'm assuming Chip didn't need the Chaos Emeralds at first, as he could become a kaiju (Light Gaia). Something went wrong thousands of years ago and he needed the Chaos Emeralds, and then the Gaia Temples were built. The Ancients came to Earth before that.

They did not created them, they just brought them. But I think the Master Emerald is not from Earth as well, it was just here for some reason. It's more likely to me that the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emeralds were created together (or existed together since the beginning of time) and got separated, before get reunited on Earth.

I've never noticed this reference to Omega could be a plothole, since Battle should take place after StH. But SxS Generations states that Rouge was responsible for convincing Eggman to not discard Omega and, instead, put him to protect Shadow. So she knew Omega before Heroes, problem solved.

Thank god that wasn't approved.

I'm working under the assumption that, whenever there's time travel to the future, they forget the interactions within a year.
So they forgot the Phantom Ruby in Forces, the Classic characters forgot Generations along their lives, but Modern characters in Forces still remembered Classic Sonic from Generations because it was less than 12 months after it.

I think we can still assume that the robot that we fight in Superstars is not necessarily Metal Sonic, so he is still in Stardust Speedway (for the second time).

 

Wait, where does Shadow Generations mention Rouge convinced Robotnik to have E-123 Omega guard Shadow? That makes no sense.

 

Plot twist: he didn't. Eggman made it up out of fear of getting karate chopped to death by Super Shadow.

 

One of the dialogues with Omega, at some point of the game. It keeps changing, depending on how far you are at the story.

EDIT: I think I've misread the line, or the translation gave me the wrong idea, or whatever. I found what he actually said:

 

I think he means it past tense, as in that's what Rouge concluded after the fact, not suggested to Robotnik prior.

I'll check the context, since otherwise Rouge told Robotnik to hide Shadow... only to be shocked that Shadow's still alive as she breaks in to that same place...

 

Yeah this is how I read it too, not that Rouge was in contact with Eggman but that she was speculating on the reasons for his isolation.

 

Yeah I misinterpreted the line, maybe it was a translation thing (I played in Portuguese), I don't know.

 

Yes, grammatically speaking the verb tense used indicates this was a retroactive conclusion on Rouge’s part. If it were the alternative, that she told Eggman what to do beforehand, the phrase would read as “she suggested he hide me”.

 

I don’t remember this dialogue. When does he say it?
I never considered that Shadow and Omega might have been locked away separately from everything else for that reason, but it makes sense. I wonder if that was the original intention or not.

 

Neo Metal Sonic was after Sonic's Lifeform Data, the Ultimate Lifeform Data and Chaos' Lifeform Data, hence kidnapping Chocola and Froggy, one of which is Chaos' unmutated species and one who was exposed to Chaos via ingesting the tail, while drawing Sonic in with the letter.

It's a bit confusing on how Metal Sonic's takeover was slow enough that Robotnik had the time to construct a base and E-123 Omega and hide Shadow therein, but Robotnik did get a radio out to the Chaotix as well, so I guess Neo Metal Sonic's takeover of Robotnik's forces was a gradual thing that he noticed but couldn't stop.

EDIT: Thinking about it, I don't think Shadow was hidden to stop Metal Sonic getting him. It's more likely he was secured so Robotnik could make the androids, since E-123 Omega says the original needs to exist for it, and hidden just so the heroes wouldn't happen upon him should they raid any other base.

It just wouldn't make sense since Robotnik would need to transport and hookup Shadow's pod, all while Neo Metal Sonic is taking over his army and keeping it all secret while Metal Sonic is looking to secure Robotnik as well. It's more likely it was just a fortunate coincidence that Metal Sonic made the attempt while Shadow was hidden away.

 

There’s a lot of possibilities here with varying degrees of likelihood, such as Eggman keeping Omega hidden away as a contingency in case things went wrong upgrading Neo Metal (so more protective than reactive), doing so to guard Shadow against any disruption to his stasis (internal or external), or even Rouge just making it up because she doesn’t want to deal with Omega throwing a tantrum about it for the third time this week.

 

It's probably her just speculating, since she doesn't know when Neo Metal Sonic struck, just using what she does know regarding that entire mess. Hell, neither do we, and here we are doing that exact thing.

Also, Robotnik didn't upgrade Metal Sonic: Metal Sonic says during the final bout with Team Super Sonic that he upgraded his body with his own hands, and Sonic Channel did confirm he was the one who upgraded himself.

 

I can't tell you for sure because I didn't understand what triggers each line. I remember Omega telling me about how should I fight Metal Overlord before I even knew I was going to fight him.
