No matter what you do the timeline placement of 06 and rush is going to have some plotholes. Glad they're at least making a stance on it instead of ignoring it as it opens the door for them to do something with blaze at somepoint.

I'm assuming this was meant to be posted in the Continuity Thread rather than the Headcanon thread?

It was, I've misread the title.

Could some moderator move it please?

    EDIT: Thank you.

From that cutscene in 06 I did get the feeling only Silver saw the vision, with Blaze being left with just the blue hedgehog description which made her ponder.

What Childish said it's true, it's never going to click perfectly no matter what. It's funny to think that after returning home Blaze found herself again in Sonic's dimension but in the future and with everything gone to shit.

They did those old comics back in the day and have done text only stories for Sonic Channel.

Hope they eventually do like unseen stories between the games and do a short one on how Blaze ended up in Silver's future.

Personally I hope they never mention 06 ever again so we can just pretend it never happened.

Kinda hard to pretend it never happened when it was referenced by Generations, which in turn was referenced by Forces, which is connected to Mania via Classic Sonic and the Phantom Ruby.

I still think 06 fits better before Rush. But since we don't actually know how time travel works, we will have to wait and see.

I used to like the "06 comes before Rush and creates the whole situation we see in the Sol Dimension" thing because I liked the implication that Blaze's fire powers came from Iblis somehow. I thought it implied that she was a descendant in the Soleanna Royal family from the future and the whole thing was a clever little time loop.

...But it's not. Blaze's powers just arbitrarily exist (in fairness, so do Silver's, there's a line somewhere saying it's not even uncommon in the future), which means that any value the theory had instantly loses its luster compared to the much simpler "Blaze went to Silver's future and then went home at the end". Sonic's general timeline scheme is "release order except when not being release order causes huge problems", so at the end of the day it simply ends up not being worth it.

Nah, this have never made sense to me.
Blaze already had fire powers during the game. Also, that theory that she created the Sol Dimension in the final scene of 06 is absurd.

My line of thought was that Rush happened instead of 06. The original timeline went from Shadow (game) to 06 and then the world ended, but they erased Solaris so the new timeline went from Shadow (game) to Rush, Rush Adventure, Rivals, and so on.

Honestly? I think the simplest explanation is the best. Rush happens. Then at some point after, the Sol Emeralds take Blaze to Sonic's future. Blaze, realizing that the emeralds sent her on a mission and would return her to her dimension once it was accomplished, teams up with Silver to help rid his world of Iblis.

This goes with Ian's claim that the explanation is rather simple, with the 06 devs claiming that its story would originally have made the connection to Rush clear but it was vetoed by Sega, and with Sonic Channel stating that the emeralds can transport her through space and time.

As for Blaze not realizing that the "blue hedgehog" was Sonic, as stated, she didn't get to see him in Mephiles' emerald. Besides that, like someone said pages ago, it was probably because she was unaware that she was in the future of Sonic's dimension. She must have thought the Sol Emeralds had taken her to another world she had never seen before, seeing how it looked nothing like Sonic's world. So from her point of view, it was extremely unlikely that it would be Sonic.

Besides, I'd think Sonic isn't the only blue hedgehog in the world(s).

Like I said, I used to think it was a cool idea. Nowadays, I much prefer explanations that don't require several degrees of narrative pretzel logic. If we say that the story simply did a bad job portraying the events that actually happened...it wouldn't be the first time.

Yeah but, if that was the case, she should have mentioned something about it when she discovered it was not a different world.

It's fine if she didn't know the blue hedgehog was Sonic at first, but she found out about Eggman's involvement pretty soon. And later when Silver talks to her about Sonic not being the Iblis Trigger, she is not surprised at all about the name Sonic.

Either she discovered that world was Sonic's dimension off screen and we did not see her reaction, or she already knew she was in the future of Sonic's dimension from the get go - and wondered if the blue hedgehog was Sonic, but let things go as they went, to uncover the truth.

My memory on 06 is rusty. I didn't remember Blaze finding out about Eggman's involvement or Silver mentioning Sonic's name to her.

But maybe Blaze assumed that those were alternate universe counterparts, rather than the Sonic and Eggman she met in Rush? After all, both her dimension and Sonic's had an Eggman.

    see at 11:59 and 26:51.

Hm. That is actually more plausible than I initially thought.

Counterpoint, no it doesn't. Nega is from the future, not the Sol Dimension.

Also, I recall someone commenting about Robotnik finding a tablet in Sonic Adventure but not being able to provide a source at some point after I got locked out the thread. It's the same thing that explains Robotnik uses the animals for AI, not power sources:

He is, but would she know this during the events of Rush? Unlikely.

This is assuming Nega attacked her world in the Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) timeline, plus even if this is assumed, I would note that "counterparts" have differences in their designs. Not to mention Sonic's lack of counterpart in her world, and of her in Sonic's world (re: why is there no Sonic Nega?)

EDIT: Wait, sorry, I'm ill, the whole point is that Sonic Rush happened, then she went to Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). But the point about the lack of other Negas stands.

I'm not sure this holds. She could think they exist somewhere and she simply did not meet them. Just like the modern cast don't meet Mighty the Armadillo nowadays.

I would imagine she'd look into a Sonc Nega, since Sonic himself proved a valuable ally, and even then check to make sure the supersonic hedgehog who just took down a dimensional threat with her didn't have an evil counterpart in her own world.

Plus, the Sol Emeralds are the counterparts of the Chaos Emeralds, but the two are very different sets of powerful gemstones.

The "Nega is a dimensional counterpart" thing rather falls apart when you look at it harder, since he's literally the only identical counterpart at all, and I would imagine Blaze would be someone to look at such a thing hard.
