  1. What does that have to do with literally anything tho?
I've been taking everything into account, rest assured. In Adventure, we actually go directly inside the tower itself, and it's not very big at all. Taking proportions into account, there's no way the entirety of secret base Zone, the city skyline in it's background, and the rest of Final Egg could fit into that space in the Mystic Ruins.
Didn't know Robotnik owned the copyrighted patent to pistons and transport tubes.
    Wait- what's "Casino Palace"?
Just because there isn't a gambling mechanic in the stage itself doesn't mean it's not a casino. Besides, even if it's not a casino, it's still not an amusement park- I think that would be significantly more clear. As I already mentioned, it shares far more in common with the other casino stages from the franchise than it ever will with Twinkle Park. I just can't see it.
Ah yes, the flat, barren canyon lit in an orange light by the setting sun looks everything like the shimmering blue lake in the midst of a dense forest.

I'm 99% sure people already found out that those orange masses in Launch Bases background are (for whatever unholy reason- even I think it's bullshit lol) supposed to represent Sandopolis. Bullshit yeah, but I swear someone already confirmed that. Regardless, my point still stands. Egg Rocket is in a canyon. Launch Base is suspended over a forested lake.
Actually, I was elated- Launch Base is my favorite Zone from the game, and it made me really happy to see that in Archie, it's not an Eggman zone, meaning that it could come back and provide interesting story elements again.
Guess we'll just continue ignoring all this then: Sadv-nghz5.png
OK, I totally asked for that XD
I never ruled out the possibility, I said some of your logic doesn't make sense- to me at least.
So I'm literally doing the exact same thing you are, yet somehow I'm in the wrong. Keep talking.
I already accounted for this, I specified Neo Green Hill is on the coast, and that the bridge possibly leads into Central City itself. Also, why do you keep fixating on the bridge?
I don't have an issue with any of this- what got me flustered was that part of your theory hinged on "the colorful > snow zone order is similar" which as I pointed out, was done by Sega across multiple games including Sonic 3, Sonic 3D Blast, SA1, Advance 1, Advance 2, Advance 3, and Ristar. Your theory pointed it out like it's some special occurrence, when... it's really not, and that's what kinda made me tick, in all honesty. A good chunk of the connections you made just felt very loose to me, like "the castle in Casino Paradise looks like the one from Twinkle Park". I agreed that that was a fair assessment, but I countered with the fact that not only does the zone share more in common with Casino Night and Casino Street than it does with Carnival Night or Twinkle Park, but also the fact that it's literally called a casino by name. And apparently for attempting to counter your theory, I deserve:
    And:
    And:
First off, I never said anyone was an idiot or idiotic, so thanks for that. Secondly, if that's your first repsone to someone expressing frustration at possible holes in a theory I assume you made for fun, you don't sound like you're much fun to have an innocent debate with. I never ruled out any of your proposed possibilities, I just said your reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense to me and left the door open for you to counter with more of your own evidence. Instead, you just try to shut down the counter points raised instead of bringing more of your own evidence to the table.
All I'm gonna say is, Iizuka said the moon turned to show it's good side after SA2- when Sonic fights Eggman on the moon, they duke it out on the side facing the earth. For all we know, the back of the moon could still be destroyed like Iizuka proposed.

Anyways, my fingers are tired, so imma leave it at that. I'm down to contuine debating about this topic, but I'm not gonna stand for having words put in my mouth. So if you wanna counter with Sonic knowledge and not petty insults, I'm actually eager to hear.

I never said you called anyone an idiot, I said you were acting like we're idiots:

No? I expressly agreed with you in certain respects: my irritation is directed towards your response. Had you said "Oh, I don't agree with this, I think it's just similar level designs" or something less "this makes zero sense, get real!" I wouldn't be particularly bothered because, amazingly, theorising is a back and forth affair. I've no issue with your consideration of it being post-Sonic Adventure 2, you made fair points about the construction in Neo Green Hill Zone, as I said:

I like your story idea: Sonic Advance can really go anywhere between Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes, if it wasn't for Sonic Advance 2's introduction of Cream then it would fit any time post-Sonic Adventure, pre-Sonic Advance 2/3 so I've no problem being either location, I just hate when people start acting haughty. I had enough of that for a lifetime.

Now, let's get back to where we were beforehand: Sonic Advance can kind of fit anywhere, honestly I think.

About the issue of the moons, is there anything that contradicts there being more than one of them?

No, but the official canon, and a headcanon I've had for a while, is that the second moon we've been seeing is the back of the ARK. A recent Sonic Channel story confirmed that's what we've been seeing.

  5. Yup, spotted in Chaos Angel and Crimson Crater. Are there any other instances?

None as of yet, I wonder if we'll ever get more Two Moon stages with the series becoming more streamlined... rare we get a spinoff like Sonic Riders or Sonic Advance nowadays, it's mostly big console games now.

Most likely they wanted an "impressive" looking game with a Green Hill-esque stage on the Game Gear for the ad. I wouldn't read too much into it personally.

That's a good question. It's a very well-produced video all things considered, so it's hard to imagine this had no approval from SEGA. Probably doesn't mean anything all in all though, lol.

I'll get my translator friend onto the relevant page from the Japanese manual.
Then use the Game Gear Sonic the Hedgehog version, or Mecha Green Hill from Sonic the Hedgehog Chaos.
It looks immensely different to the checkerboard standard.

  11. You read my mind :oldbie:

The "Green Hill" in Sonic Blast bears no resemblance whatsoever to the Green Hill of Sonic 1. I find it odd that it's included here, cause it seems to insinuate that they're officially the same zone.

That's a weird choice of zones... There's 8 bit Sonic Green Hill Zone and Green Hills Zone in Sonic 2.

It's not like they didn't knew what they were doing, GHZ from SA2 is a secret level after all.

Nothing suggesting it, only that it's a Hill Zone in South Island

Is Angel Island Zone in Sonic Advance not the Knuckles' Angel Island Zone?

  15. ...no? I feel like that's obvious. That's why this new connection is weird. It was always assumed (at least, I was under this impression) that Blast GHZ is not the exact same location from 1, but now...?

I think trying to prune a nugget of lore from a commercial that most certainly wasn't thinking that far into it might be a fool's errand.

I think it was more "let's double check" than anything lorewise. Besides, it could just be a different area of Green Hill Zone, like an area closer to the beach and seafront rather than the in-land lake we seem to see in other instances: both are named Green Hill Zone.

  18. Well like I mentioned before, personally I always just nicknamed it Green Isle Zone in the back of my mind to avoid confusion. (I also nicknamed 8-bit Green Hill to Green Mountain Zone for fun lmao, may or may not use these names if I ever need them in a fan project).

It is the same island at least. You can see those Mayan pyramids in the background. And you even fight Metal Knuckles at the end of the level, which is a nice touch.
It might be a different area of the island, but it's the same island.

Just like Green Hill in Sonic Blast. The game takes place in South Island, so it would be weird to have two different Green Hills in the same island. It might be just a different area of the same one.
