If I know I can buy a bottle of soda for $2, I'm not going to buy the one that costs $3—not unless it's amazingly good.

I could buy lunch with that $5. I could put it toward the next $10 game I buy. Hell, when you're #$%^ing unemployed like I am, you learn the value of five dollars pretty fast.

 

So where's this other new 2D sonic game for 10$?

So your argument is why buy a 3 dollar soda when I can buy a completely different brand for 2 dollars? What if you don't like the other brand? You said it as though you could get a better deal for sonic 4 elsewhere.

Yeah, I'm totally comfortable continuing to buy the soda I've been buying for two years instead of the new one they just released for $3. Unless it's got a whole 'nother liter of content, anyway.

Right but what game is 10 dollars that you think is better? There are some good games on the downloadable market, and they're mostly 15$. Sonic 4 isn't an exception, I think it looks good enough to be 15$.

 

Honestly, I think people are just trying to find reasons to make 15 dollars seem like it's expensive. I can make that money in a day, and I hardly have enough money to eat on, plus I'm in college.

 

Bionic Commando: Rearmed. It looks nicer, has better music, a good story, and is overall a lot more original. Also it's probably a lot longer than Sonic 4: Ep 1, making it a much more full game. Took me around 5-10 hours to beat it once, a steal at $10.

 

But isn't it just Bionic Commando in HD?

 

Fuck I'd pay $50 for an HD version of Sonic 3 and Knuckles that used Rayman Orgins/Wario Land Shake it art style. $10 is nothing

 

Isn't Sonic 4: Episode 1 basically meant to be an HD version of Sonic 1/ 2? :v:

 

Maybe but that game is LITERALLY the same game in HD. Same level design, same enemy placement, same everything.

And I don't care that Episode 1 is rehashing, honestly. That's the least of my worries... and I think that it's a good idea to re-acquaint people who haven't played the game since the Genesis died... at least in theory. They got the aesthetics of the old games down (not taking into account the lazy shortcuts taken to achieve them) but not the gameplay, I.e. the most important part. That baffles me. It's not out of inability, I'm sure that Sega has at least some values for the physics filed away somewhere, is that crappy engine just a source of pride for Dimps?
