    According to a comment at the SSMB article regarding the release date, Nintendo Power's latest issue says that Sonic 4: Episode 1 will be 1500 Wii Points.

    No scans or anything to back it up, but food for thought, since the issue should be making its way around now.

    As far as current legitimate discussion goes, I don't mind a Boss Rush the first time or two through, but it means that anytime after that I want to replay the Final Boss, I have to go through other bosses first. Not to mention that if I wanted to fight Splash Hill Zone's boss, for instance, I could just select that. Probably unlikely, but maybe there will be an option to skip the boss rush upon replays?

    And that's the point I was getting at: S4E1 is DESIGNED this way. It's "Throwback Galaxy", if you will.

    About the whole DKCR thing in comparison to sonic 4, you seem to not get that just like our community bitching about sonic 4, the donkey kong country community is bitching about DKCR.

    Seemingly, there would be nothing to complain about, right? Just like the DKCR community would think about sonic 4.

    But no, they're complaining that the kremlings aren't returning, the art style is different (no prerender), the music isn't the same, King K. Rool isn't there, characters have a second hit, the physics are different, the enemy design is weird, diddy kong has a hover jetpack making jumps less hard, not to mention a peanut gun, DK has newer moves that he shouldn't have, DK and Diddy kong have their NEW designs...

    It's the same shit with a different game, all because everything different is too new and everything similar is too old.

    Yes, go on any DKCR board and it's littered with nothing but complaints. It's ironic how we're all bitching that this game uses prerendered graphics, while you got other people complaining that the graphics in DKCR are TOO GOOD, thus clashing with the original art style. :P

    No fanbase is ever happy.

    Actually, it's not a better way to do it. I actually had my engine work that way for a while, because I thought it was more reasonable, but soon noticed that Sonic felt totally wrong. It also destroys his ability to do the half-pipe thing in Spring Yard, Casino Night (and elsewhere) where he can gain speed successively by rolling down one side and then the other.

    The lesson - unless there's a damn good reason, match the classics exactly.

    There's a world of difference between putting a rehash GHZ boss in a rehash GHZ level (lookin' at you, Splash Hill), and putting fucking Metal Sonic in the Egg-o-matic in the middle of a brand new Zone. Please don't conflate Dimps' lack of originality with S3&K's huge amount of face-fucking awesomeness.

    Again, functions differently and is only a small lead-in to the proper boss fight.

    No, I'm not picking on you DigitalDuck, it's just that your posts are actually worth commenting on (unlike most of the dross in this thread). :v:

    But complaining about DK's design? That design hasn't changed that much since the original DKC has it? Sonic's had more drastic design changes than the Kong...

    I would hardly consider the level tiles pre-renders. Looks more like potential photoshop HD graphics that have noise all over them

    So all in all, this game in it's proposed four episodes will cost $60 dollars total supposedly? Hmmm.... That's awfully pricey.

    I agree it's not a better way in terms of gameplay, but it makes more sense in terms of physics. Because it's actually impossible to roll down one side of a half-pipe and leave the other half higher than you started without putting some of your own force into it.

  20. $15 an episode is not terrible if its true. and if there are 4 episodes, then every 2 episodes is like a full sized sonic game
