  1. I still wonder if they would drop the "Episode 1" thing if this is a failure enough to cancel the second episode.

Over one nice looking level? fucking no.

Because I know about it, sonic spinning at the same speed all the time is starting to bug me even more now when I see it in these video clips, ugh why can't they just make him animate faster at speed ffs.

I'm liking those rotating cards, very Wing Fortress-y.

And lol @ pinball gimmicks w/out pinball physics.

HAHAHA Pinball physics now gets filtered to I HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE SONIC ENGINE. Fucking awesome.

I can't believe this thread. They make new stages, change acceleration, add a world map, and then people say things like "they're not putting in any effort".

You can hate the changes but Christ saying they're not putting in effort is just ignorant.

Every time we see something new you act like nothing happened because it wasn't what you wanted to see.

Because the whole game isn't what some of us didn't want to see. This game is just a way to scam the gaming public whom haven't played Sonic in 15 years.

I'm there with a lot of people in saying Casino Street is much improved.

However, did anyone catch what Balough said in the Joystiq preview? How in bringing back the Casino style zone, they really wanted to "bring that to the consumers?"

"Consumers?" I recognize he says "players" later on in the preview, but...that's his mentality? Or is that the overall mentality?

I think that's part of the image problem—that attitude, that borderline arrogance, that we've suddenly degenerated from dedicated, patient fans to "consumers?" I recognize this is a business in the end, but for God's sake, at least try to make it appear you're listening to the fans like you said you were.

Eh, I'm pretty sure miyamoto has called the people who buy their games "consumers" in iwata asks. I mean, is it really a big deal that he said consumers? That IS what we are.

  9. No. Two nice looking levels.

I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.

I'm sure that made the forum's day just now. =P

Uh, yeah. He's, um, the brand manager.

Seriously, what the fuck did you expect?

Spinning speed >>>>>> complete level overhauls.

    Fact. Fo' shizzle.

Those are just platforms. The only nostalgic nod there is that once or twice they're arranged in a Spring Yard pattern.

I know you're joking, but really all they should do is replace the normal jump with the ball form. That form spins faster if you're moving faster. Still, the animation and whatnot just works better if it doesn't have that shape. Still, thinking about it further it shouldn't be too hard of a thing to change.

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
You know...Sonic not spinning faster when moving faster is starting to really bug me too. Not because its genesis-inaccurate, but because it just looks weird.

The trailers have always been shit, and always had physics that make the rest of the game look immaculate. Try not to heed them too much.

Eh, I dunno, I'd give him a 7 for effort. Anyway yeah, Casino Night 2.0 looks pretty nice now, actually. I like the card roller coaster idea. Waaay better than the arbitrary garbage 'Collect X Rings!" Act 2 challenge we had. Physics will probably still put a damper on things, but I digress.

The physics will absolutely demolish the pinball aspect.

    Just sayin'.

It's not like we haven't already seen the physics with the level. They didn't ruin anything in regards to the pinball aspect. Sonic runs faster on steep downward slopes and slower on steep upward slopes. That basic concept is still there and the most important part for pinball/skatepark like-physics. The only problem could be uncurling but that's more of an appearance thing than an actual problem (as far as I HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE SONIC ENGINE go, anyway. Not the actual move, that's not just an appearance thing).
