  1. I was shocked to see this today.

    I was even more shocked to see pure awesome and win in the form of this zone.

    Flying moving cards?! AWESOME.

    Sonic 4's website hasn't been updated though...whats up with that?

    Ruby said the website would probably updated tomorrow as they have to keep the preview exclusive to them.

    I'm actually liking what I see here - the cards gimmick is pretty new AND original, not that by this point ANYTHING Sega throw out is going to dissuade the haters.

  4. That new Casino Street act looks awesome. Delay justified?

    That actually looked really good. I wonder if they removed the speed boosters. Probably not. Still, that trailer looked good.

    Also, sucks for people getting the iPhone/iPod/iWhateverTheFuck. Enjoy your ten minute slot machine madness! Hahaha

  6. hey guys I made a new Lost Labyrinth Act 2 Remix, check it out and tell me what you think.

    Actually, the list of act exclusive gimmicks goes down to this:

    SHZ1 - S-tunnels;
    SHZ2 - Vine swinging;
    SHZ3 - Pulleys;

    CSZ1 - Slot machines;
    CSZ2 - Flipping cards(?); (Pinball Score Attack in iPhone version)
    CSZ3 - Cannons;

    LLZ1 - Ball-walking; (little note about LLZ1, there is NO underwater sections in this act)
    LLZ2 - Torch; (Minecart Section in iPhone version)
    LLZ3 - Underwater sections / waterslides / Moving wall / twist-the-screen-to-spit-Sonic-off-of-the-water thing;

    MGZ1 - (sitation needed)
    MGZ2 - Gears;
    MGZ3 - Chasing wall / motion-controlled platforms;

    Also, I must say the new Casino Street is looking geniunely good, with effort really being put into it. Not enough to warrant me to buy the game or to support it by ant means, though.

    You know, more and more this looks like an HD Sonic 2. Not a horrible thing, but I mean... I wanted more than that out of something called Sonic 4.

    Maybe Episode 2 will expand upon things a bit. For now, I'm tentative.

    See? Dimps can be original if they try a bit. Why they didn't do this the WHOLE game I don't know.

    It's easy to blame DIMPS, but they're getting loads of their direction from SEGA. At the end of it, DIMPS are doing what SEGA ask.

    Eh. We've seen most of their creativity in all their 2D games. It's hit-and-miss. Frankly I like the emphasis on retro game design they're taking so far, adding some fresh originality here and there. I just suspect that it won't be done justice in the end, but we'll wait for the game to come out for that judgment.

    I suppose a brand new game that blows the originals and the handheld games out of the water would be amazing, but it doesn't seem like DIMPs is really geared towards something like that just yet. Wait till Episode 2 I guess.

    And yeah, some of the responsibility goes to their direction from SEGA, so it's here and there.

    @chunkybeef319: Nice bass remix. It sounds like something that'd belong in SA1 or 2.

    The 2 new acts replacing the 2 crappiest ones look like the best acts in the game. Makes me excited for episode 2.

    Added steam to the list. But yeah, that's exactly my point. There's not an awful lot connecting the acts in the zones together. Not even a huge amount of similarity in the way the stages are constructed. I was quite surprised that there's no water in LLZ1 (I meant to say LLZ3 in my above post) because that tends to be the main thing about those stages.

    Don't be too forgiving for a couple of original ideas. Every zone so far are just copies of older ones with added stuff and new level layout. All their new ideas so far wouldn't even make a single new zone if they were added together.

    Life.
    First thought: "Card games on Sonic Cycle™!"

    Second thought: Looks pretty nice. Looking forward specifically to those two new acts. Rest of the game is still meh.

    Casion Street looks awesome, cards 'n' all.

    That said though, I did notice one thing; there appears to be revamped barrels.

    Please DIMPS, don't torture us just as CNZ2 did.

    That said, they may just be moving platforms. If so, false alarm.

    I was referencing to their work in games like Sonic Advance 1, 2, and 3. Rush/Rush Adventure even had some neat gimmicks here and there. It's almost like SEGAs limiting DIMPS.

    It's a false alarm, lol. Some of the actually move around like those moving boxes in Spring Yard though.

    Yeah I kinda thought that, but seeing that the level seems more inspired by Casino Night and Carnival Night than Spring Yard, I felt a little reluctant to say anything.

    Regardless of barrels or lack of, this level looks a thousand times more enjoyable than Splash Hill and Lost Labyrinth, so much so, that it almost looks out of place.

    Surprised to say it looks rather promising now. Thank god they decided to delay it... now I'm mildly interested in Episode 1... and Episode 2 I suddenly have new hopes for (I'll only have myself to blame though).
