    Mushroom Hill is really weird with them; some you'd twist around and run up normally, then you'd have some you run down like in Sonic 4, but for a drastic less length, maybe 96 to 128 pixels of a drop at most, which is pretty much nothing compared to Rush/Sonic 4/Advance games. As everyone says, the only Genesis Sonic stage to really use convex curves in a comparable manner is Stardust Speedway. Convex curves should be level specific, not a level standard. Sonic games are meant to feel like high speed roller coasters a lot, but also remember not every coaster uses convex curves.

    I'd LOVE to see helix curves in Sonic games more. They only really appeared in Angel Island Zone and Leaf Storm Zone.

    Interesting. I'd rather rolling and spindashing were equally emphasized and dash pads were minimized, but that's just me. I haven't had the chance to play the game and make up my mind, but from what I've seen of the trailers and leak footage, I rather like it. It's got a little more Sonic Advance 2 that I like, but perhaps it'll feel different once I play it.

    I'm sure I can enjoy it, but it'll be forever inferior to the classics for it. Rolling around everywhere was AWESOME.

    Video of new build. Spot the wheel-o-feet, animated title card and animated title screen.

    What I noticed:
    - Uncurling hasn't been fixed, and nor has in air inertia.
    - The title screen has new animation identical to S1, but once the finger waggling starts it's still just a static image with a rotating hand as in the old build.
    - In one part of SHZ3 you get a good example of how the speed boosters aren't needed.
    - Making Sonic wheel-o-feet sooner makes changes in his speed so much less jarring. That acceleration boost was needed.

    *edit* no matter I can skip forward, thought it was live for a moment.

    lol them playing the sonic 4 theme is terrible, worst sonic tune ever made and it sounds shitty.

    I feel so sorry for everyone on the sonic 4 dev team.

    I love how whoever was playing that clip also jumps and air dashes instantly at the start, lol momentum earned.

    Don't think I'll be purchasing this anymore. Thanks for the hype train SEGA, but I'm getting off here.

    In the clips shown, Splash Hill is, layout wise, virtually unchanged.

    However, I am saddened that the lead Senoue used live (read: the "Station Square" lead) isn't the lead we're going to hear in game. I loved it much more than the Cat with a Stomach Virus leads and it made all three Splash Hills sound much better.

    Otherwise, meh's all around.

    Dear god, that performance was putrid. I do want to hear the first Colors song they played in full, though! Sounds like it'd be interesting if someone competent was performing it (though no hate to Ohtani, he's a bro).

    I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.
    I like the animation, very retrofag-nostalgic, but I feel little desire to give SEGA props for a three-frame animation unless they're also willing to make the slight changes to code that would cause Sonic to remain in ball form when rolling off ramps. :v:

    That faggot singing and what I saw on screen just reminded me why I don't play Sonic games any more... and won't be playing this.

    Jun Senoue's face while playing in the beginning says it all. He knows Sonic 4 is a lost cause.

    Anyways, I personally think that the expanded title animation looks loads better. The earlier-triggered wheel run is also great.

    I actually hate how the used the Genesis drums on stage. As if they're saying YEAH WE MUST USE THESE instead of using actually drums like any other video-game rearrangement on stage would. I have a hunch Jun would make this soundtrack work much better with better instruments, like the synth-keyboard he's using on stage.

    Else then that, I like the changes to the game that I spotted.

    Didn't expect them animating the title card, even though that wasn't an issue to fix. The layouts seem to have slight changes, but still, why the fuck is uncurling still around?

    The new title screen animation ! Here is a comparison of the two simmilar animations. There are definitley some extra frames for the eye blink and hand pull in there:

    They still didn't animate his hand, rather they just got an image and rotated it. It should be made of multiple frames, and making him blink would be nice too.

    I agree with the finger wag, I also think they should have smoothed the actual animation, so it has the same positions as the old one, but was actually smooth.
