has anyone else noticed the wonderful irony behind:

<Ken Balough> We've even delayed the game to focus on fixing the physics and level designs.

<RubyEclipse> I tried to push hard for the physics to get fixed, but the reason we didn't is because of the level design.

I don't get it. Either the delay was to fix the level designs and physics or it wasn't.

    Welp, this.
Well, if you read it between the lines as "we realized the physics of the minecart didn't play to console versions as well as we hoped, so we redesigned one level" and apply the standard layer of PR speak for Ken, it's not that big an incongruity.

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
Not to mention there isn't all that much communication between Sega's departments.

Yeah, this was the point I'm trying to make. SEGA seriously can't send a consistent message. I know Ken isn't a credible source of information, but really all this delay just to 'fix' one gimmick? Speaking of ken not being credible, you've got him going "momentum physics" everywhere and Iizuka still being in charge of the design and he even said "That was a misunderstanding" When will SEGA get their act together?

oh speaking of being lied to, anyone remember "The delay is to satisfy the fans!"?

It's not fixing one gimmick, they have made several changes from what I can tell and also level design tweaks. There is a difference between tweaking a part of a level and completely redoing them. That and I am almost 100% certain they also 'fixed' the second act of Casino Street.

Besides lots of tweaking goes into building, when it releases people will be ale to differentiate between the beta and final versions of the game. The leaked build was apparently from 9 months ago and the game has been delayed so far 2 months, and likely will be coming out in a month or two. See what they used the time for.

I just read that preview. It would imply that they just didn't care about the physics even after it's what so many have been harping on a bout for months. Then again, if they cared at all the physics would have been at least halfway decent from the start.

And I can guarantee you that explanation from Iizuka is either a lie or a miscommunication, because it's not what someone high within SOA told me on the record a few months back for a sort of related longform I was working on.

Prepare for a fact check JOURNALISM style this week, folks. :v:

    New pics of lost lab...

It may just be that specific screenshot, but it almost looks like the running animation blur now actually matches with the feet.

Okay, this is absolutely fucking stupid. So the delay was put on that shitty port which is useless and shouldn't have been made in the fucking first place!
Oh and we already knew about the iPhone version since your website team is fucking incompetant!

Isn't this just backing up that the whole delay with Sonic 4 is just useless when only little changes were being made? Way to be a dick, Sega. I told you that better platforms should've had Sonic 4 instead of sucking Steve Jobs' cock with a low-quality version of a low-quality game.

Oh and Iizuka can fuck off. If Yasuhara and Naka were around we would have a better Sonic 4 rather than this.

It just becomes more and more clear with everything the man says. He doesn't give a shit about S4.

Also, those screenshots are confusing. They're not from a new build at all. No blur on Sonic, and it's the old lighting style. Seems a little odd.

Nope, the different lighting and blur were only because it was the dark level in lost lab.

    You were saying?

The lighting looks awful now. It would have been nice nice extra detail for LLZ, but it looks terrible in somewhere as bright as SHZ.

I'm pretty sure he only looks like that in that particular shot because he's at full speed.

    Compare:

It's not the blur I'm talking about, but Sonic's colours. The new version has very harsh lighting.

    I don't understand iOS gaming.

And I don't understand why this on the iPhone else then LOL MONEY.

Thirdly, I don't understand why Iizuka thinks it's a good idea to say that they're focusing on a minor version of a console game while the console version is left as it is. If only he knew.

I'm pretty sure the lighting only appears that way as a way to make him look faster, are there any shots of him with that lighting of him simply jogging or standing still?

There's plenty of them but it's hard to decipher old from new, as they're releasing mixed screenshot batches. Some shots may not have been shown before, but they're still likely to be old. In the LLZ trailer you can see the new lighting all the time, and even the transition from 'normal' to 'blurry' at 35 seconds.

Huh, you're right. I don't know why they would do that.

Anyway, I think the game is going through more changes than people think. I won't take a bunch of quotes of things they're going to fix, because they'll see it when the final game comes out. Still, they're changing some of the songs as we saw in that video, they changed the running animation as we also saw, they changed LLZ act 2 of course, they changed one entire music track, possibly for CSZ Act 2 (probably because they also changed the act).
