Hahaha, opinions. Let's just carry on and ignore ridiculous statements. Some people hate any and all 3D Sonic games at all, including the otherwise subjectively good-looking Sonic Colors in comparison to the subjectively bad (I'm saying subjectively for both because obviously opinions will differ on if both games are good or bad) Sonic 4 (though for objective reasons like bad physics).

Anyways, I personally liked what I played at PAX. And that was the friggin' E3 demo. Guess perfect classic physics don't matter much to me when I only really liked CD and S3&K out of the classics (sure, Sonic 2 was good, much improved from the first, but 3's much better in my opinion).

So yeah, let's try not to fight among each other. Remember the super power of teamwork!

 

I don't know about him, but to me, any 3D Sonic game is too different from the Sonic I was introduced to and loved at first sight, which is 2D Sonic. I've never considered any of the 3D games actual Sonic games, because the formula was completely different. They might even be good games to some/most people, but I don't like them very much.

With Sonic 4 I saw a chance of playing an actual Sonic game after all this time, so you can imagine how disappointed I was when I finally saw that even in 2D Sonic wasn't Sonic anymore. I got over it of course, and from now on I will probably just maintain my usual apathy towards new Sonic games. Really, Sonic 4 and Colors might even not be shitty games after all, but they are still nothing like the real Sonic to me, so I don't care about either game.

 

Seems like regardless of physics problems, it's fairly reasonable to expect a good game to play. I'd say that's cause to celebrate for the time being.

Games are good and Sonic is a cool dude. Let's get happy now. It's getting unbearable in here.

 

Instead of carrying on this line of pessimism, why don't we discuss what could possibly be in the next episode? Like, what zones do you think there'll be, what characters are playable, etc?

 

I'm guessing an ice level, maybe lava or desert level, forest-ish level and at least one space or secret base-type level.

 

If you ask me, I kind of hope they'll try something new. I can't think of any thing good, though - the first thing that came to mind was Sonic being digitized and running through some sort of computer system. I'd like to see another Sky Sanctuary-ish zone though. I always loved that level, it's my favorite out of all the Sonic levels. Just the general atmosphere about the level is awesome.

 

Speaking of later episodes... do we actually know how many there are? I remember one source saying 3, one source saying 4, and one source saying 5... so what is it?

 

Unknown. They have all of S4 planned out at any rate.

 

All that's for certain is they claim Sonic 4 as a whole is longer than any other 2D Sonic game.

 

Wasn't the number of episodes mentioned in that leaked SEGA document that was even removed from these boards?

 

Sonic Colors is Sonic Unleashed minus the wolf. Sonic unleashed constantly took control away from the player and I always felt that I was watching something rather then plalying it. I didn't like that one bit thus to me even the day version of Unleashed was no good and Colors won't be either. Its really sad how easily you guys forget the Sonic cycle. Its already run half its course with Sonic 4 and you don't think Colors will be the same?

 

I would love another ice level. and some ghost badniks would be nice

 

Eh, when, the only time control is taken away, you have a QTE, and they hardly last long.

 

Ghost badnik as in they're made to be ghosts, or ghosts as in the spirits of destroyed badniks themselves? (barring the flickies/animals inside of course)

WoW! Thanks for the clarification! I learned something new today. Who the hell decided to waste time by changing the code like that? The change doesn't seem to affect any other aspect of the game. This brings me to my current question. The team appeared to be highly dedicated to the physics of S3&K. I just hope that kind of spirit returns for Sonic 4 episode 2, but in terms of details we can more readily notice....all I want is for the gravity to be correct on hills! + - I know....for the nth time  

 

I have accidentally been crushed by monitors that I've knocked down before, maybe the change was to eliminate that risk...
