The Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Megathread

That's changed recently. The whole demo thing didn't even last three months.

 

'Cept Knuckles turns pinkish upon reaching Super Knuckles. Tails glows yellow, which is only slightly different than him turning yellow were he not already yellow.

Other than that, that's the first reasonable argument for orange Tails I've heard yet. Doesn't amount to much, but then neither does fur color.

 

I would not complain honestly. It always felt like the Knuckles and Tails super palettes were a cop-out because they didn't want/have time to make new sprites for them. Let's just hope they don't go Heroes on us, cause that was lame. Knuckles looked really cool, but just having a gold bubble was awful.

Especially what they call the captured animals at the end. xD (This is the only video I've seen where the player doesn't get hit by Eggman).

 

I hope they don't pull a Heroes and just give Tails and Knuckles gold spheres instead of actual changes in their appearance.

They probably won't even get super forms though. It seems like only male Hedgehogs and Blaze get super forms these days.

 

Tails needed the Super Emeralds to become Super Tails, but Knuckles can use Chaos Emeralds. I think he'd return to his hot pink form, otherwise there'd be shit like when people found out about his state in Sonic Heroes, which was rather disppointing. The Super Emeralds might be back if there is a lock-on mode, so a Super Tails could be plausable then.

 

One thing I would like to see retconned is Tails needed the Super Emeralds to transform. Sure he couldn't transform in S2 or S3-alone, but big deal. Everyone else can.

 

I always wondered why Tails need the Chaos Emeralds AND Super Emeralds just to turn Super. Maybe it's the lack of experience with the Emeralds (unlike Sonic and Knuckles)? Hmm...well, we'll see what SEGA does. I do wonder if there was a Hyper Tails, what would he look like (I know one person drew him as a 9-Tailed Kitsune, but I don't think that'll work)?

 

It's because Tails is a stupid worthless child and isn't allowed to do cool things without the expansion pack and twice the effort.

Hyper Tails would be what Super Tails is now with more glitter, Super Tails would be the same thing without the birds.

 

I never had the feeling that Sega gives a shit when it comes to continuity.

 

I totally preferred Tails and Knuckles's gold aura from heroes over Super Tails and Super Knuckles glow of a brighter shade.
With more thought, however, it only really worked because they were teamed up with Super Sonic.

That said, Super Tails and Knuckles should definitely glow their brighter shades if they show up in Sonic 4 with super forms.

It's less Sonic Rush and more a poorly coded Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
