    It's essentially just a little bit of gameplay, the boss has these rods or sections of wall (TV fuzz prevented me from telling) that come out slowly (not not too slowly) at random points and you need to jump on them to reach Robotnik but you could only hit him once before you would have to repeat the process all over again. It looked tedious as hell... And a few seconds of the player crying like a sissy. :v:

    I love how the "Pinch" mode is incorporated into the bosses....something first started with the Advance series. At least only this and the homing attack made their way into the "Past".....although neither were in Sonic Pocket Adventure which I would assume takes place after Sonic 4 (regardless of the rehashed S3&K music).

    Personally I hate the pinch mode, but I could see why it was added for the 2D games....to make bosses seem not as mundane and repetitive (see: easy to figure out the first time).

    There are plenty of other ways to make bosses 'hard' to figure out the first time, such as giving them a pattern that either doesn't let you use the straightforward pummel-them-into-the-ground technique unless you have godly reflexes you'll probably develop after actually playing the game and not being stuck on one level to rely on trial and error which is just a cheap way of Dimps saying "We don't give a fuck, here, this makes the game longer!" or making their weak spot difficult to find, both of which are the way platformers have always worked and recently released titles will tell you that this is popular because it works fine even if it has been done for the past up-teen years.

    I don't mind games adding things to them, but I don't like games that take things away for innovation because that's more dammaging than adding a not-so-underwhelming ability to a character whose only appealing quality to someone who didn't stare at his game screen for the past 16 years and doesn't have the full appreciation of his main ability is using the shields.

    They once again neglect to show actual gameplay just so you can't tell how broken the physics are. All we get is a mixup of 5000 springs and other scripted events.

    You'll be glad to know that there's new trailer music. In one part of the video, it looks like the 10 minute time limit is running out. Also more misplaced/non-classic sound effects which had classic equivalents. Maybe I should redub the trailer later.

    Apart from that, Sonic still looks like shit and so does the game.

    How much of that trailer is footage from the most recent build? I wouldn't be surprised if this trailer has been done for some time now, and they just waited to release it.

    Sonic's lighting and running animation tells you it's all from a newer build.

    EDIT: 720p version
    I actually think the blur they've added to the running and jogging animations looks quite cool. It's just a question now of whether he starts running soon enough.

    The new act still looks and sounds like fun, and the minecart is now the way it always should have been. This is what I want to complain about:

    Answer: + - Sonic loses all of his momentum upon hitting that spring. He should go upwards to the right. Bonus point if you noticed he still doesn't have to jump on the spring.  
    Granted that last point is more or less negligible, the physics still aren't looking good.

    While I get your point about the spring, what's the problem with the momentum? Do you expect him to fall on his ass and hurt himself or what?

    I for one am very happy with the art, seeing it in motion. I've always wondered what Sonic Team would have done with Sonic 3 if they had a larger palate to work with, and damn it if this isn't close to what I pictured.
