Well, it's not like there aren't original level elements in Episode I already...

 

True, but I'd say the amount of rehashes is currently exceeding the amount of originality.

 

If we're going into a stream of "I hopes", I hope downloading multiple episodes will allow retroactive character inclusion which lets you do things like play as Knuckles in Episode 1.

That's because Sonic 1-3 are numbered sequels, with Sonic 4 continuing the chain. It would've been the odd-game out if they put it in the video.

 

I'm hoping that they add Metal Sonic as a playable character. He may have been in a handful of 2D games, but besides the Rivals series, he's never actually been playable in any of them. In fact I think Metal Sonic is only playable in about 5 real Sonic games (So not All Stars Racing or Olympics), and he's only been a part of the plot in 2 of the games he's been playable in. I think Metal Sonic has been gaining some ground though, even if it took all these years.

Ooh, I like this idea.

Dimps are really missing out if they don't include online multiplayer at some point, even if you have to buy all episodes to get it. It just seems a waste to have consoles geared specifically towards online play, and then not use it.

If we do get online multiplayer, then I'm hoping to be able to choose between Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles at the very least, all with a distinct moveset. However, when it comes to multiplayer, then as far as I'm concerned, the more characters to chose from, the better. Since you don't HAVE to choose a character you don't like, you don't have to. At the very least, an Advance-esque Amy would provide a different enough gameplay style to warrant an inclusion.

I am expecting some form of multiplayer, since Sonic Advance had it. It wouldn't surprise me if it was essentially just Sonic Advance multiplayer with Sonic 4 levels either. And if those are true, I wouldn't be disappointed at all.

 

In his race in Sonic CD, Metal Sonic never stopped moving to the right of the screen. He just boosted through any obstacle in front of him, and then he met his end via an obstacle that he couldn't react to in time.

Metal Sonic was a pioneer.

I've been thinking about this for the past few days, and while I'm not really sure if I'll buy it or not, seeing + - Super Sonic flying through Mad Gear Act 3   made me smile like nothing else has this year.

It'd be nice to see Hidden Palace in HD for Episode 2, but that's pretty unlikely. I'm hoping for some original badniks/stages as well.

When it comes down to it, I think it's going to be a fun game. It won't be the Sonic 4 that's better than Sonic 3 & Knuckles, if such a thing could exist, but I do think that provided Sega/Dimps puts their all into it for Episode 2, it could stand up to Sonic 1 or 2.

I dunno why but I'm kinda hopeful that the lack of speed boosters on the JAP site means they're seriously considering rehauling the game itself as well by getting rid of those things. I know it's an incredibly far fetched idea, but I felt like throwing it out there to discuss/humor the thought.

 

Or the guy in charge of the japanese website just wanted to do something cool looking.

I mean, a bit of a stretch, but you never know!

 

If all else fails it could mean that Episode II will lack speed boosters at the very least.

 

I'm more than willing to bet that + - a Stardust Speedway rehash will make it in for Episode 2. The Boss Act will be be a race against Metal Sonic. "Sonic VS Metal Sonic" or "Race Against Metal Sonic" will be its act name.

Who knows... maybe ALL of episode 2 will will be a rehash of sonic CD. and then we'll get time traveling in Ep. 2! :specialed:

 

Since (JP) Sonic The Hedgehog (1991) actually, that doesn't mean nothing, it's just his vision of his ultimate utopia (just like SATAM's Robotropolis), and if I'm not wrong he only achieved it for moments in Sonic Unleashed, at least in the games.

(It's his main base in the Sonic OVA for example, the one that was localized as "Robotropolis" on western countries.)

Yeah, we noticed that when the soundtrack was first leaked. I think Tweaker mentioned it on the frontpage too.

 

Yeah I figured if anywhere already knew about it it'd be here but I just had it pointed out to me and it blew my sleep deprived 8am mind so

 

I think you guys are way over-analyzing the stuff on the Japanese site. It probably means: *drumroll*: absolutely nothing. Just that the web designer felt like making a SHZ-esque backdrop for the site.

 

Sonic CD rehash confirmed. When you travel into the past you revert to classic sonic and you only have the peel out and spindash. I dunno what they'd do about the future, but whatever.

EDIT: I got it. Past is classic Sonic and the level layouts focus on platforming and exploration. Present will just have the modern Sonic and it'll focus on speed. Future will have an old Sonic but he'll be fitted with some cybernetic stuff, thanks to Tails, and the game will involve blowing shit up and fighting, so like Gunstar Heroes or something.
