So, are the Mephiles and Emerl plushies any indication of these character returning to the spotlight soon? I mean, them showing in Sonic Rangers is unlikely, but in Sonic Prime... I can see them being alive and well. Mephiles could become an alternate take on Shadow becoming consumed by Chaos forces or something, destroying the world.
I think they're just checking the boxes tbh, like with the Jaks Mecha Sonic figure. Not that I'm complaining, it's great to see the obscure characters getting merch.

Is it bad that for some reason I don't like the Knuckles ornament as much as the Sonic and Tails one? I dunno what I would have made it, but him gliding and holding a ring seems weird.
I agree, I'd rather see him rubbing his rock hard fist nipples on a breakable wall, but the Knuckles and the Sonic+Tails ornaments have great design as far as character depiction go for hanging on a tree.
I'll have to check these ornaments out. But I just bought the Classic Sonic Eggman Robot toy, the Classic Sonic Advent Calendar snowboard figure, and the Classic Sonic diorama from Numskull. If only Sega was somehow aware people like Classic Sonic, maybe they would make another classic game, but with Mania being such an awful flop by every measure, Sega would never be THAT stupid... Sega is a business.
To be fair, we know concretely that Evening Star are working on their own IP now - it could very well have been the case that they were approached but turned the opportunity down in order to establish themselves independent of the Sonic franchise. In that case, SEGA could be waiting until Evening Star is available again so that the sequel to Mania is developed by the same talent so as to avoid disappointing fans with a flop that doesn't meet expectations, further damaging the brand.
