http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1c6i2H1oAw I have here the legendary Sonic Epiclock from Sega of America's Play for Japan charity on Ebay. The item is in good condition, with minor physical damage, namely on the sides, with some tape and glue fixes applied to it. Also, I find it somewhat unnerving that I get this the day Osama dies. "What were you doing back in 2011 when Osama bin Laden died?" "I was making a video about a clock." "..."
I thought this was going to be about the watch. I would've requested your immediate removal from the forums for rubbing it in our faces.
You should send it back to SEGA with another personalisation, and it will be auctioned off again with another picture of Ken Balough replacing a number. At least we know who has it now. =P
First thing that came to my mind when I saw this thread. Maybe it goes to show how dull my day-to-day is but it's always really interesting seeing where this thing pops up next.
Since SEGA no doubt will see the video, I enjoyed the final few seconds, haha. Well played, and congrats.
Sega commented on the video just a little bit after your post, nice call. As for the others asking, "Do I plan on giving them it back?". It would be nice if I did, but I'm not sure I want to answer just yet. And a little offtopic, they once again confirm there's no more uncurling in that video comment, awesome. Thanks guys, great clock!
Congrats on winning a piece of history. I have to ask, is this item wiki-worthy? I've been thinking of writing up a page about it as it fits in both the community and merchandise sections of the wiki. I feel like it already has an important place in the community (and to an extent, SEGA history) that would be even moreso if it became a traveling item... which it already kind of has been. EDIT: Done. You can add/change whatever is missing or out of place. I have a suggestion: If you decide to sell it, leave a mark on it somewhere. Maybe you can replace another one of the numbers with something funny.
Well this clock doesn't seem to tell the time that well.. If at all! the least that could be done to it is speed up the internal motor to make it look interesting.
