Retcon. Also, that's the last of this that we'll discuss in this thread. You're welcome to start a new one.
Ok, this hack wins by default. The art is awesome, the music is great, and the choice of characters is nice and original. It's really nice to finally find someone who actually likes Silver, as most people I've spoken to hate him, for whatever reason. Speaking of Silver, I do have one small nitpick with regards to his standing sprite, and that's his arms/hands. Edit: I haven't seen any other sprites besides his levitating one, so I don't know if any others are similar. Take this image for example: In that picture, I find it quite hard to actually discern Silver's hands from the rest of his body; to me, it looks like he has very short, stumpy arms with tiny dots for hands. I figure the reason for this is because you've used a darker gray for the bottom part of his hand, and thus it kinda merges with his body. I dunno, I just think he could look a bit better. Then again, maybe I'm just being pedantic. I kinda have this image in my head as to how Silver should look, but this is afterall, your hack, not mine. Regardless, this hack is awesome, and I can't wait to give it a whirl! PS: Any chance of a Super Silver screenie?
Excellent hack. Everything from the new sprites to the new pallettes work beautifully. The new ASM features are great (super forms in particular) and that one of the best, if not the best title screen I've ever seen. I would maybe like to see a little more of Silver as the focus up till now has been on Sonia. But definately keep going!
Oh, man... I cannot stand the suspense! How much longer will you keep your fans waiting? BTW, I would have to agree with The Prof's comment. The last several screenshots were mainly of Sonia. Have you done anything new with Silver?
Sonic One may be Sonic Gone, but relax. It's art lives on! Behold The Inferno 2.0! Jayextee didn't want the art to go to waste, and since he no longer has any use for it, he offered it to me. He will also be doing art for two other levels, and I finally got some layout designers. At this point, I have some serious flaws and glitches to work out, and I don't know if they'll be done in time for the hacking contest. If I can make it, then the Hacking Contest build will likely be a public one. Stay tuned.
It looks nice, certainly, but I question how well it fits the scheme of the game. I expected dark, menacing areas in which the players were subject to imminent death at any point in time—what I see here is something rather upbeat and organic. I see it and I don't think "The Inferno"; I see "obscure desert that came out of batshit nowhere." This wouldn't normally be a bad thing, but considering the overall scope of the game, it raises a few questions. That said, that looks badass. :D
There is more to The Inferno than meets the eye. >_> <_< -_- Seriously though, it earns the name as you'll eventually see.
Add to this the fact that I have to finish the art for that zone as yet. Seems we have a bit of a team together doing this thing now, and I'm quite excited about it.
Lol of course I didn't know 'you' were making this hack because you still had your old nick when I last checked this thread. You sir are awesome and your hack is now on my most wanted list amongst those select few. Excellent stuff.
Excellent screens of Silver there but I do have one minor nitpick. That walking sprite looks kinda odd, as if his shoe is not attached to his leg, but that could just be because of the tiny size that I'm seeing it on the PSP screen. However I'm looking forward to a public release of this one for sure!
Well, while it doesn't look like an inferno as Tweaker said, it's great that Jayextee is giving his art away as really does look good. I wasn't expecting this game to have an abundance of new art at first either, so it's surely peaked my interest
What? I didn't know Sonic One was gone? Still, The S Factor is a hack that deserves art like this, and it got it. Nice work.

Though the background could be a bit darker to rid the dessert feel of the level, I think it's looking good.
Agreed; methinks the background needs to be less cheery/rainbowy, and more red/burny. Possibly along the same lines as Sonic 3's first level, as that really created the atmosphere of overwhelming heat. That being said, it's about the only issue I have, bar Silver's hand. The rest of it looks quite well done, especially Super Silver. Very nice work. PS: Just out of curiosity, are the Silver sprites your own creation? They look quite well done.
