It's not from the game, it's from a show (a cartoon more precisely). :eng101:

Very nice hack, I love playing as Scourge the Hedgehog (Since he has Sonic's gameplay style), and I like the music, nice job indeed, I like A.N.N's theme, the three act White Blaster tunes (Nice use of Deep Core, I like Act 3's BGM the most), the hip hop/rap version of the Sonic 1 Boss theme, and Arid Temple Act 1's BGM as well.

As for the levels, I like the new layouts, and the new art (Since Spectra Valley and Arid Temple use the art from Sonic One (Jayextee's old canceled hack of Sonic 1)).

Overall, nice work, I can't wait to see more progress on this hack soon.

Some of the songs are from Totally Spies (Aquaslash's favorite show, and Chaotic Street's BGM is from Totally Spies), most of the songs are from other Sonic games, and one of the Songs are from Sonic Underground.

Glad to see someone liking what little I contributed, although Aquaslash deserves kudos for 'finishing off' Spectra Valley's art somewhat... anyone who's ragequit rather than do that FUCKING s-tube or loop-the-loop will know why I stopped right there ;)

And now a musical breakdown, because I feel like it.

Title Screen, Extra Life, Game Over, Invincibility, Good Ending - Either a direct cover or remix of the theme of "Free 4 All"
Song E7 - Transformers Animated theme (extended version)
Song E8 - "Moon / Mars ~ Sukarabe Fight BGM 1" from "The Hybrid Front" (aside from PSZ Act 1 and the WBZ Nega boss, it's the only literal SMPS port)
Speed Shoes - Based on "His World"
Slow Shoes - "Hey You! It's Time to Speed Up" (SA1 version, lol irony)
Placid Sapphire Act 1 - Sega CD US Bios v2. (with acts 2 and 3 as obvious remixes)
Chaotic Street Act 1 - S.P.I action theme from "Totally Spies!" (with acts 2 and 3 as obvious remixes)
White Blaster Act 1 - "Deep Core" from Sonic Rush Adventure
White Blaster Act 2 - "Deep Core: Allegro" (also from SRA)
Negative Outlook, Final Boss Clear - Loosely based on the Crustacean theme from "BeetleBorgs Metallix"
Emerald Chase - One of the infiltration BGMs from "Totally Spies!"
All Emeralds Round Clear - Excerpt from "Our Allies" from Transformers: Galaxy Force (Cybertron in US)
Sonia Emerald Clear, Super Sonia - Main theme of "Totally Spies!" from Season 3 onwards
Sonia's Ending - "Society Girl" from Sonic Underground
Silver's Ending - "Dreams of an Absolution" from "Sonic the Hedgehog" (2006)
Scourge's Ending - Based on the theme of "Split Second" (1980s version)
Continue - Based on "What U Need" from Sonic Rush
Vs Metal Knuckles - vs Metal Knuckles from "Sonic Advance"
Vs Eggman Nega in White Blaster - Remix of the Sonic 1 boss theme

and unless I'm forgetting anything, everything else is an original composed by myself. Speed Shoes, Silver's Ending, White Blaster Act 2, the percussion of the invincible, and CSZ act 3 were all done by Tweaker.

The originals have influences from all over the place. Ring Land in particular is primarily inspired by the Jeopardy! theme. It even has it's original (Act 1), "bongo remix" (act 2), and 2008 revamp (whether it sucks like the actual 2008 Jeopardy! theme is your call)

    being an asshole =P
I actually like the act 3 BGM the most because it doesn't have the annoying ring-like instrument :P

Hm, I coulda sworn Arid-something, Act 3 was pretty much covering Arid Sands from Sonic Unleashed at at least one point.

    ?_?

It's A.N.N, a fancharacter made up by Aqua, not Metal Sonic. :x

Looks just like Metal Sonic, 'cept the white stripe on the forehead-to-middle-spine.

Also, a glitch I encountered, dunno if it'd been addressed before, on Genesis Plus, Wii-Port.

White Blaster, Marble-Garden-Zone-Boss-copy. When in Super Form. the game stops, repeating the same five or so miliseconds of sound. Emulator-menu still accessable, though.

Protip: A.N.N. is purple, Metal Sonic is blue. Don't make me pull out the large sprites XD

Also, I think that's an emulator issue, because I've never heard of that

If it wasn't mentioned, it's an original. Though in Metal Sonic's case (song F5), more of a "collage" so to speak.

Great hack! I was excited to see a release for it (Even if it is a Beta)

Just a few things I noticed (not necessarily complaints, just opinions)

    1. Good lord, Spectra Valley is freaking hard the first time around!
    2. The multi-phase boss in Spectra Valley was surprising, and very unique. (I've only seen something like that in videos for Megamix)
    3. Maybe it's just me, but I could've sworn that the second zone (forgot its name already) shared the same layout as the second zone for Ollie's Sonic Ring Rush on Hacktube. <- Or, maybe that's the unedited layout of Labyrinth Zone and I need to play more Sonic 1. Disregard, cocks, you get the idea.

I haven't played any further than the second zone, as I'm gonna have to get used to the new characters ('specially Silver, who is the only one I actually play as in the game), but wow, keep it up!

Since I don't really use this site often for posting anymore, consider this useful when I say that was well worth the wait.

    In terms of Feedback-

Loved the originality in level design, music and particulally in the bosses. I'm guessing Malevolence had a hand in there given that insanely hard Metal Knuckles fight.

I was also very impressed with the work on the sprites, as well as their movesets and how suprisingly handy they came in. And another thing- thank god you got rid of the special stages and replaced them with something a lot more suitable. Inventive, I like it.

In terms of critisicms, I'm guessing there isn't really much else I can add that you haven't been told about or know already.

Spike Bug- Although I'm guessing has been left in intentionally. For some reason, even though spikes aren't as noticable as in Sonic 1, when they are noticed here, its usually in the most inconvienient places. Chaotic Street and Ring Land being prime examples. (The Spike Bug managed to work upwards through a shield in Ring Land Act 2).

I'm guessing the game is going to feature Slowdown Shoes...

And last thing, although loved the rest of the tracks. The quirkiness of the Ring Land theme tune gets tiring very quickly. Is it not possible to just leave that section as part of an intro?

Thanks very much and look forward to seeing this finished.

A feature I'd very much like to see:
    -Skip score calculation
-A tiny bit more difference between the Speed Boots and Slow Boots monitors (Just something small and subtle, I can't see ANY difference between them at the moment)

I made other positive feedback earlier in this topic.

If you know what the slow shoes monitor looks like you would stay away from it, hence removing the trickery that makes it interesting.

My one big crit, and I feel perfectly justified in saying this...
You could stand to make the Metal Knuckles boss into more of a plausible boss fight, and into less of a violent rape involving a barbed wire covered extension.

Harsh as that may sound, the fight is insanely difficult. The fight with A.N.N is barely reasonable in terms of difficulty, but I could live with that. The Metal Knuckles fight crosses the line. Particularly during the part of the fight where he decided to make rape incarnate rain from the sky. As if hitting him to begin with wasn't enough of a pain in the ass.

E_E Seriously, there's a difference between giving players a challenge and subtly flipping them the finger.

I am by NO means a skilled player - I even have difficulty with Sonic 2's difficulty in general -, but after a couple of tries, Metal Knuckles actually appears to be quite beatable - it's not easy, but doable, nevertheless.

Yes the Metal Knukles boss can be hard if you not super. But I prefer a challenge once in awhile and I thought that boss was awsome.
