OMG UPDATE: *All of Sonia's sprites have been upgraded. *The overwhelming majority of Silver's sprites are finished. *Silver does not go into the circle feet running style....ever. *Silver now has spindash. *Work on enemy and level art has begun *Character can now be chosen via a menu on the title screen (Think Sonic and Knuckles but not as pretty...yet) *Revision 01 BG effects have been added. *Speed Shoes BGM. Needs new voices, yes, but you get the idea. *Work on this project is a little slow ATM, I'm a spriter for another "Mega" project, and I have an A+ exam to prepare for.
Why are you putting such filth into a great game? Just a question...I mean that Sonic game sucked, why pollute the good oll Mega Drive games with it?
Well some of the ideas of Sonic 06 were good, infact I liked Silver. They were all just horribly exectuted. Doesn't mean he'll do a bad job though.
HEY LOOK MA! IT'S AN UPDATE! *Speed limit killed. The REAL way. *I'm actually making progress in level art. Like this: *Random music changes ahoy! *I finally got some time to finish Silver's ending sprites. Like this:
Although the sprites themselves look nice, there's quite a jump between the second-last and last sprites, so the movement might look quite jerky when animated.
Ok, palette dilemma time. I'm getting plenty of comments about one or the other so I'm looking for a mass opinion of which of these two Silver palettes look better:
The one on the left seems more "fitting", IMO. You can see the shading a bit more clearly, and.. well, it just looks better. :P Though I wouldn't automatically jump to saying that the right one hurts my eyes, because in reality, A. It doesn't really, and B. Both sprites are infront of that turquoise-ish background, which may be why I don't see the one on the right all that good. Though they both look pretty nest, for now, I'll go with the left.
I'd go with a brighter version of the one on the left. The right one looks like it's turquoise or something.
I think the image can be a little deceiving. The background colour, alongside the various images around it (signatures, avatars, etc.) made me think that the left sprite was kind of pink. I opened the file in Paint, changed the background to white and magnified it. After doing that, I felt that the left sprite looked far better.
