    However, you guys are forgetting something crucial.


    In Sonic the Comic, Knuckles points out that there is an island filled with native Aborigines near by.



    This can only mean one thing, that Sonic is an Aussie and that we have been duped all along.



    And this thread is really sick.

    The next audtion
    I don't really think we'll be able to fully map out Sonic or Knuckles' routes till SEGA gives us an official 3D model of Angel Island or something along those lines. But so far I think True Dude has the best idea.

    Is there a currently existing megamap of all sonic game location etc? (Probably fanmade.) If not, it could be interesting to make one...

    Yeah, thinking into this seriously is grounds enough your overanalyzing just a bit. Its very unlikely that the art direction was planned out to the point where the developers took stuff like that into account.

    Anyone take into account that the English Manual tells us the explosion at the end of Sonic 3 sent Sonic deeper into Floating Island (Thus Mushroom Hills)
