I just noticed that the game's Steam page indirectly references Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3: Compare with the disclaimer in the BBFA3 page: Which makes me wonder, was this developed by the same people? Even though it's an official Sega release, it's labeled as "indie" in Steam.

My best guess? Yeah, it is the same team. But someone will have to compare the credits of both to confirm. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if BBFA3 was cancelled and then massively retooled into this.
I I know I'm beating a dead horse, but hy a April's Fool joke game has more soul than Sonic Forces? But for real, the art in this game unronically looks phenomenal, I loved this.

Just beat it. I'm honestly shocked how well-made this game is. Just curios, is the murderer the same person every playthrough or do the person change every time?
Steam itself hasn't been able to run on Windows XP since 2019. Runs fine in both Ubuntu and Arch using Steam Proton tho.
My first guess for the "murdererer" was Spoiler: Murderer Theory Amy. When you interrogate Shadow, they mention that Sonic and Shadow didn't give her a gift, so I thought that she whacked Sonic over the head over this. They also kept stressing that Tails and Amy can't be the murderers, which I thought was too suspicious. But in hindsight, that didn't really make sense, lol. The game does a good job at distracting you from the real culprit, though.
