Pretty sure that Vice is indeed the best. That transistor level simulator those guys at visual6502 are doing is possibly better though - dunno if they got to the sid/vic chips yet, though (and it's a hundred times slower than real time).

I had no idea this was never released retail in Australia or Europe. Like many of my games, I picked it up ex-rental for a fiver at the fall of the Mega Drive empire.
That cap obscures the pcb number, but I'm pretty sure it's 171-6570a, right? Thanks for the pictures!
Yep Just tested it on my Jap Laseractive and it works, so it appears to be a region-free PAL release.

For the record, we're moving away from CBR manuals to PDF ones - don't know if that makes things easier/more tedious for you (it certianly makes manuals more accessible for the masses)
more tedious, but I'll figure it out Segacom John Sands SM1200 Micromodem 3 SC-3000#Australia Keyboard Learning Program Note: There appears to be a prototype SF-7000 here that I didn't notice before.
Let's Type Loretta no Shouzou: Sherlock Holmes I moved Loretta no Shouzou out of Master System Games and into SG-1000 games, because that's what it is. Music LaserActive#Scans
Loretta sounds more like they originally made it as a SG-1000 game and had carts manufactured, but jumped it over to the Mark III by the time it was finished because that was out for a full year by then (but kept The Black Onyx back for some reason...). Sega lists it as a Master System game, so I'm not sure if we should list it as a Master System game and point out the oddity like we already do with Phantasy Star Kanzenban.
Seeing as the box lists it as an SG-1000 game... I also vote SG-1000 (it's no different from what we've done with The Castle) quite a few sites seem to mis-label this one. I guess it's the packaging (although interestingly, all the card based SG-1000 games from 1986 specifically mention the Mark III too)
The difference is that The Castle has a SG-1000 code (G-10XX), whereas Loretta has a Mark III code (G-13XX). Also Loretta is a 1Mb Gold Cartridge. So whilst technically a SG-1000 game, it was packaged more as a Mark III game. This is the same issue with categorizing Korean SG-1000 releases which were packaged as SMS titles (SG-1000 wasn't released there). For those we list them as SMS games.
The case in South Korea is a bit easier though - as you said, there's no SG-1000 consoles, so even though some of them aren't strictly Master System games, they were manufactured and marketed as such. With Loretta no Shouzou, we have a game which is marketed as both, and as Japan received both consoles, so unlike South Korea it makes more sense to call it an SG-1000 release (thankfully I think it's the only one of its type). It looks to me as if they were toying around with packaging designs around this period - there are Mark III elements to the box, but also SG-1000 ones - it stands out a bit regardless of where you put it, and clearly Sega themselves were a bit confused when they were building their online archive we could always find a way to put it in both sets of categories....
as a follow up to this In Japan, no Master System games were released on cartridge during 1985 and the first half of 1986 - they was all on card. That means the G-13XX codes didn't come into effect until the Master System release of Fantasy Zone (1986-06-15). Only two cartridge-based SG-1000 games were released in 1986 and 1987 - The Castle (which we don't have a specific date for, my guess is before Fantasy Zone) and of course, Loretta no Shouzou (1987-02-18). Everything else was on card and so used C-XX codes. My guess is the G-10XX naming scheme was depreciated by the time Loretta no Shouzou was released, hence why it was given a G-13XX code instead. It's an odd way of doing things, but it's the only occasion where both new SG-1000 and new Master System cartridges were being manufactured at the same time. Perhaps this explains it?
Q*Bert Roman Numbers-Up Got the .cbr to .pdf conversion working for the manuals. Control Stick Sorry for the less than perfect specimen used in scanning, but better than nothing I spose Joypad (SJ-152)? Seems I have a version without the detachable thumbstick. Joystick (SJ-200)?
Super Control Station SF-7000 I used the perspective tool in Gimp to flatten out my photos of my box, hope that it looks ok Also notice that the back scan of the Jap Box looks suspiciously like the Aus Box, can we check the source on that Also it seems like my version has a slightly different disk drive to the one already pictured. Sega Keyboard Tried to scan an A3 size box on an A4 scanner and stitch the images, wasn't that successful. SG-1000 Added images of my rare "German" model SG-1000 SC-3000 Added images of my white SC-3000 and Australian SC-3000H. Not sure if I did it right, mixing the photo galleries amongst the physical scan boxes. Joystick (SJ-300) Added photos Star Force Star Jacker Space Invaders Updated scans Spellomatic 1 Spellomatic 2 Added these, not previously in the wiki Spelling Tutor (John Sands) Not sure if this is the same game as Spelling Tutor so added new page, but I suspect they will probably be merged in the future.
