Played it real quick, don't have much time right now to get into it. But couple small glitches I noticed, though I'm sure everyone knows about them, though they haven't been said here. At some points tails will walk above the ground slightly. Also flying to the top of the screen will cause tails to stop flying and fall, until you hit jump again that is. Also one time flying to the top of the screen, I actually flew off screen. I'm not sure if I could have just walked across cause I was still hitting jump to try and fly. But I could hear the jumping sound as the screen went by, not smoothly, seemed to only move during the jumps. Finally I fell back onto the screen, and with my luck, fell into a pit.
The server owner, Dark, got a new server router... and upon installing it, the sites needed to be adjusted. Saz worked on getting it fixed, and now it's back. So that answers that question. =P
updated. links hasn't changed since the v1.0 :P btw, shutup about the palette stuff. I tried to fix this, but I suck at art and I decided not to fuck it up more than it is :P have fun
I don't wanna sound like a whiner, but I've just tried it out and it's crashed at the same point on GHZ 5 times in a row :/ I can take a screenshot/savestate if you want. EDIT: Ok so now it's started crashing right near the start of the level... weird. EDIT2: I've noticed it only crashes when I'm rolling/jumping. If I get through the level with a small amount of jumps it doesn't seem to crash. A bug in the code for Tails' tails maybe?
If you jump over this rock, whilst invincible, it'll crash each and every time without fail. (It's the rock just after the cliff-edge that breaks on GHZ act 1) I've had it crash in lots of other places, but this is where I can reproduce it every single time.
Sadly, the way you ported the spindash makes room for inumerous camera bugs, for instance: In GHZ1, stand on the top of the cliff with the two 'S' shaped tubes, face it and look up. When the camera reaches its highest point, let go of up and immediately start a spindash, so that the camera will lock. Build up some speed, let go, and watch Tails sink into oblivion and, if you're lucky, die. And concerning the "tired" animations - weren't there unused animations like those in Sonic 2? *researches* Oh and by the way, like no one seems to have noticed, Tails is floating at least a good 3 pixels off the ground.
Wow. v.1.1 is near perfect! Great job fixing all the bugs and everything. A few things you probably already know: Tails still stands a few pixels above ground. (after jumping only) When tired he looses his tails. His tails do not kill badnik. I have yet to have this crash or anything, so you guys must be playing it wrong. :P I would also like to point out to everyone.. Sonic 3 uses the same Tails sprites from Sonic 2, just with an altered pallet.
Green Hell Zone; Act 3; clean game; freeze. Seems that Tails has lots of random jump-to-crash/freeze spots. =\ Nice hack, drx.
Just some ones are different like the flying animation. And would be good to use Tails? unused animation from Crackers. I was doing nothing important for now, then... =P With correct pallet and implanted a arm on him. =P
Groovy, Yuski - that's exactly what I was talking about - I just didn't realise that the unused sprites were from Sonic Crackers and not Sonic 2. Thanks to ICEknight for clearing that up.
I played the full game, from GHZ1 to FZ to see the bugs... Well: Bugs I noticed: - Tails?s Jump freezes the game in the most unexpected moments. Like, when get a Special Stage ring. - In Labyrinth Zone, something cause a glitch on Tails? Fly/Swim. Happened to me on Act 2. - Continue sprite still Sonic. =P - In the ending sequence, The big Tails screen pic gots on the bottom of screen. Also, when he release the emerald appear some GHZ tiles. O_o; Not bug... but just to remember... - Red parts of many enemies, Eggman, lamposts, and red things from Star Light, get weird with this pallet. - Red springs get screwed too. - In the pallet at the ending, blue emerald turns orange. =P
I didn't get any random glitch bugs- only comment I have is that in the Special Stage, Tails has no tails.
Lost.. I'm sorry, but that was not appropriate. Quality is a matter of opinion. If your going to criticize a hack, at least make it a constructive criticism.
After so many complains about the hack bugs out, I see it that way. Lack of quality and time, and understanding of the Sonic engine. You know what I think about destroying the Sonic engine. Everyone can make a game hang, but do it with a bad game, and not with Sonic. Sonic deserves better.
