Edit: Giving credit where it's due, I'm not the first to discover this. However, I am not stealing credit or copying this person's find. I did all this on my own, and it's just a coincidence we both decided to delve into what we could.

I decided to download the Street Fighter 4 PC benchmark, and once installed I realized it's the entire game. Really, it is. In fact, it contains a HELL OF A LOT of unused audio samples. The most prominant of which are "Thunderhawk, WINS!" and "Dee Jay, WINS!". Raw ADX files extracted can be found here. Is this audio directly ported from the console versions? Is this something Capcom is preparing to release for the PC version? Discuss.

EDIT: Alright, so it looks like the benchmark uses the EXACT same formats as the Xbox 360. Meaning these are AAX files, not ADX files. They have been correctly extracted here. 427 is Thunderhawk, 432 is Dee Jay. I'm downloading the Xbox 360 version to investigate it further, and possibly replace files in the benchmark to make it a fully playable game.

    Hex editing the EXE:
Dee Jay and Thunderhawk music existed?

    ooooOOOOOoooohhhh...

I'd love to see Thunderhawk be added, but it could just be a remnant from when he was planned, BUT I'd have expected this to already have been found via hacking of the 360 version if that was the case. I could go either way.

I remember reading on TFG that Dee Jay and T. Hawk were planned and "ready to go" which means they could end up as DLC..

Or the next version of SF4 lol.

I looked at this a little, is there anything that can play AAX files yet?

alt+tab out once you start the benchmark, and you'll get 60+fps on the performance counter.

You'll get shit like this with everything maxed out:

for comparison, I can keep up 60fps in 1680x1050 with the default settings. AA and AF will completely kill the framerate (it's a midrange card, so this is expected), Particles will only kill the framerate at some special moves (Ryus super attack, KO blast), and Soft Shadows can be turned up to High but not Highest (latter will again kill the fps).
Other than that, I can set everything to max and still get 60fps.

The 4670 is a fucking beast for its price.

Fucking lame, I got a D... 4 GB RAM, 3.1 Dual Core processor, Geforce 8600 GT.

I so need a new GFX card.

The benchmark runs at around 40 FPS though, so it's still playable.

Exact same thing here man. Bothers me so much. That 8600 GT was considered a beast back in '06. Man, the way time flies...
Well I've been messing around with the settings. Nothing conclusive yet, but I'll keep trying.

So, I set up the background detail to low, but I think this is excessive...

    Is that normal? o_O

    Yes.

    Low removes the background entirely.

I rechecked. The only options are "low" and "high" for the background... Were they that lazy of only making one version of the background? o_O

No it wasn't. It was a laughingstock. The x1950pro cost something like a little more, and was WAY more powerful.

    Holy shit dude

  18. note that said settings would not be particularly nice to play at anwywhere between 45-55fps.

Solid 60 with AA and AF off though.

Badass! I really hope it works, because now that I've tried the game on PC, I don't really want to touch the console versions since I don't have an HD TV, unlike everyone else apparently. I can deal with the 40-ish FPS, especially since I suck at Street Fighter anyway, so the slowdown might actually give me a hand.
