Very nice. If/when I ever get around to pushing out another STE update, this will be added to the official template set :v:
That makes this less impressive now =[ Then again, the text is stored as ASCII, so it wasn't very impressive in the first place >_> Though I changed the palette and since it's a small one it's a one quite hard to find, so I guess I win again >=P
If it's plain ASCII then I do not see the need for a program which does it. Also, finding the palette should be straight forward (unless it computes it at runtime, which I think it doesn't). Just find for the word 0x0EEE into the BIOS, which is RGB(7, 7, 7), I.e. white.
Are you gonna edit it by using a magnet in your hard disk? >=P STE is a general text editor anyways, and it can handle more stuff than just ASCII. Also it's actually an ASCII wannabe. The end-of-line ($01), end-of-text ($02) and the logoized SEGA characters are not ASCII. Just it turns out the main characters are. Nothing hard to find with a hex editor though. Yeah, but you run the risk of hitting another 0x0EEE that was something else. Thereby, the longer the palette, the safer. Here there are only two colors so it's somewhat risky. But I think it's stored as an array instead of just writing them directly to CRAM for some reason =P
That file hosting site you have there had a pop up ad that tried to download a presumable virus on my computer saying "Windows is searching for viruses don't close this window you have viruses on your computer download this program to counteract them blahblahblah" and even brought up a download dialog box for freevirusscanner.exe despite me hitting the cancel button. The thing is, I'm on a Mac. I can catch these things as they don't work correctly. However I worry for other people that try to download as that host your files are located on don't seem to be on the up and up. Not that I doubt anyone's intelligence, but that darn thing's persistent and sneaky.
I don't want to lose an trial post now.... But whatever. You need an program to edit it even if not STE, An hex editor...just an program that supports replace and hex search, that what I use. I originally want it to keep it myself.... I need an better hosting site. Can you give me an example? I don't like rogue software. They really suck.
1) Use [ and ] instead of < and > for quoting. Even better, use the quote button =P (you can quote more than one post by using "quote +" in all the posts and then hitting reply too). 2) Try Fileden? It's free and people don't need to go through a shitload of ads to download something (hell, people can download the files directly).
