    True, maybe time ran out so it was easier to grab Chaos Island and make a level out of it.

    I just chose those levels because I think the assets from Forces/Frontiers could be used for those.

    Sky Troops using Sky Sanctuary/Frontiers Ancient Ruins, Digital Circuit using Null Space/Frontiers ruins with the lighting, and Circus Park using Casino Night/Frontiers Casino Forest.

    Easier said than done though.

    Kind of funny how some of the best gameplay we have seen so far of this game is from someone who, from the comments, didn’t love the game much. But it is the case.



    Some cool stuff every now and then. But again. Even when played at a “higher level,” this level design does not impress me overall.

    Right now it seems like I'm soft locked from playing the final level and boss. I go to the spot where you are supposed to unlock the last doom power and get a message that says I must first "defeat Doom's Eye in the Doom Zone" and the game sets a waypoint on Sunset Heights. Hopefully they'll have a patch out to address this quickly.

    More actually good gameplay from the same place.



    I thought that uppercut into throw and teleport artack Shadow has could potentially allow for some cool player made skips. I didn’t think the game’s level design would actually allow opportunity for that though by the placement of these things and the structure of the level.

    I am happy to say I was incorrect. Actually, this looks pretty fun.

    What a crazy concept of waiting until actual people have a chance to experiment rather than theory craft, pass judgment and remind us at every chance.

    Outside some neat skips every now and then, it still doesn’t look much better than I expected, tbh.

    The actual level design still doesn’t look very good. The stuff he came up with to bypass the level design is what’s really looking fun here. I guess I can give the game props for at least allowing that. But even Dream Team, another relatively shallow game, allows some cool skips at times.

    In fact, while watching this, I started to think of Dream Team quite a bit exactly for those reasons.

    Some thought Rouge's back was covered up to make the wing animation look less odd, nope it's just straight up censorship. In the game where they revisit Maria being killed by G.U.N, Rouge isn't allowed to have cleavage anymore. Guess we know what will happen in a Olympics Games/Riders re-release. Perhaps Dream Team will get a patch similar to FF7 Remake for Tifa.

    It's always the usual response. It doesn't matter but it was important enough to you to change it.

    I'm so sad the anthropomorphic bat character from a game targeted towards for 12 year olds won't have visible cleavage anymore. Woe is gaming.

    I did see some folks saying the clothing covering where her wings meet the bat might have been an oversight or a creative decision to make the color scheme a bit better but its honestly so minor that I dont know why they'd even bother if it was intentional. I dont really care about either situation though tbh and they've depicted rouge specifically with inconsistent cleavage/breast sizes anyways so I really cant be bothered much by it, especially in a series primarily aimed at kids anyways

    also, the challenge mission, hard mode variants here look pretty good. Gameplay wise at least, even if visually this is Mario maker level hazard spam. They are at the end.

    I seriously love this game's level design.

    I don’t. And I think I am just going to have to accept that I am not going to see what I want.

    I keep watching all these gameplay videos hoping to see something truly great. And while there are moments every now and then of cool skips and stuff, it is few and far between. And the design between mostly seems very unengaging to me.

    I don’t see it. I just don’t see it. It looks fun enough to get if I see a price drop. But I just can’t justify spending 50 dollars on that game before that.

    I'll be honest and say I don't love changes like this, but I'm not going to put up a bit fuss over it. The culture wars over this stuff is stupid and characters get tweaked all the time for a variety of reasons, some good, some bad. It's a constant thing with remasters/remakes.

    Oh the other hand, if I didn't see that gif, I never would've even noticed it.

    Edit: Actually, I'm rewatching the cutscene comparison in motion now and I can barely even see any difference at all. Yeah, the reaction to this one is really stupid.

  19. It matches how she looks in Dark Beginnings.

    I noticed it there, because...she's the character closest to having an actual neck (which is a sin) and it looked weird to see her head so much closer to the breast plate. My first thought wasn't really "censorship" though.

    Oh man I need to get Apple Arcade again so I can play this game.

    But imagine if the level design was more like this. You know, more 3D and platforming control. Slope jumps and all that stuff. More constant interactivity and no subway surfers nonsense. This is a bit closer to the game I want Shadow Gens to be in my head.



    Not that Shadow Gens doesn’t also appear to have some cool stuff going on. But take this style of level design and gameplay as a basis and add the cool shadow stuff to it; with the double jump and the doom powers and the crazy dynamic visual effects/setpieces and the spectacle and the number of alternate paths and things like that. Make the boost speed faster too.

    Also…

    you know..

    Actual level theming like what Shadow Gens has.
