I do not like either one, but looking at the current state of adaptation of movies or series (The Witcher, Rings of Power, Netflix's Resident Evil), I would not expect too much. The Sonic movies are rather unique in that they went very well with the general audience. I'm not aiming to heat up the atmosphere here, but in my eyes Comix Zone "adaptation" looks really bad, and not only because the author sounds like he's / she's going to make a self insert - he / she just doesn't take much from the source material. The movie will try to capitalise on the current Hollywood trends, and that's not a good sign. It's sad, because the history of comics and their authors is vast and truly fascinating. There are so many ups and downs in it, for example - reading the Marvel Comics story, you can even get the impression that it is a corporate thriller. Maybe they will go that way, maybe not. Who knows. As of now, I don't believe it will present a compelling story. But hey, prove me wrong. I was wrong about Sonic Movie after all.
Sorry I could have phrased it better. What I meant is, that the comics industry is really fascinating, with a lot of (sometimes even crazy) real life stories. Marvel Comics was an example. I've read the book "History of Marvel Comics" and it sometimes felt like a good corporate thriller book. Somehow, I don't believe that this Comix Zone adaptation will be as interesting with the direction it currently has. Just my point of view.
