    SoniQuest
It's basically Sonic 1 with new level layouts, art, palletes, music, and more.

    But of course, Screenshots! :)
Please note these are very old, from an earlier build, and were once presented to SSRG Forums first. New art has been created for GHZ and SLZ, as they are shown below.

    Levels
GHZ - Neon Tumble (Sunset Pallete): 60% done
    MZ - Magma (Red/fire Pallete): 20%
    SYZ - Mystic Land (Green pallete/orange): 18%
LZ - Seastar Ocean (Blue Ocean Pallete): 9%
SLZ - Sparkling Light (Blue pallete/green background): 15%
SBZ - Robot Factory (Red/dark Themed Palletes): 18%
FZ - Death Egg (Same pallete as RF Act 2): 5%
SS - Special Stages (Same pallete (may change); features 1-up and unused items): 75%

    Planned Music

Title Screen - Knuckles Chaotix Title Screen theme music / Ristar Title Screen music (or original if neither are possible)
Neon Tumble - Green Hill Zone (55% done) / Door Into Summer (First level; Knuckles Chaotix)
Magma - Radix Run (heard in LocalH's 1sttimeout.bin file)
Mystic Land - Flying Battery Zone Act 1
Seastar Ocean - Hidden Palace Zone (from Sonic 2)
Sparkling Light - MJ's "Beat It" music (from Moonwalker)
Robot Factory - 2P Casino Night Music (Sonic 2)
Death Egg - Sonic 3D Blast Final Boss
Special Stages - Special Stage (Sonic 2) (CURRENTLY CHROME GADGET)
Boss Theme - Final Boss Theme (from Sonic 2)
    Credits Theme - Original (23%; new instruments/tempos)
Invincibility Theme - Walkin' (from Sonic Crackers)
Drowning Theme - Menu Theme (from Sonic 2 Beta)

Incomplete Songs: Title Screen, Neon Tumble, Credits.
Technically all songs are complete, since I've changed the transpositions and tempos (and instruments for some songs) for all levels, but I might decide to change the song later on.

Music Credits: Sonic_65, Tweaker, and ShadowFire

    CURRENT ISSUES
    [IMG]
    Behold, it's happening! :)
I will be fixing the deformation values along with the foreground art. Since SLZ has a lot of 16-art and doesn't split it into two like GHZ does, the art overwrites the foreground art, and a part of sonic's popping up animation. Shouldn't be too hard to fix. ;)

Also, while using ASM, I couldn't find a workaround to duplicating the GHZbg.bin file (located in Levels). So thus, we stay with this:
Does anybody know how to seperate the title screen background from GHZ's?

BTW: Each art runs off its own file, meaning:
Title Screen: SLZ but hacked a bit (not GHZ)
GHZ: GHZ (but with SLZ's BG file)
    SLZ: Still SLZ...intact

Well, I'm back. And this time, using SonED2! So yeah, more art work since that's what hacks require to excel these days. B)

Yeah, the pallete is temporary, but it's to match the old pallete I had. Since SLZ didn't work (I have yet to find any backups with the new art working), I decided to work on my favorite level first. Some things to take note of are the Super Mario like stars (I added the eyes after noticing it looked just like one), the gray/blue gradient filled lamposts, the thousand x's, and the lighter pallete.

Comments on the new art and how to make it look better on the eye, ;)

    Mmph! Oldbie
What are you talking about? SoniQuest is a story I'm writing.

Seriously though, pallettes are looking nice so far, except for the, uh, pink sea. Eww.

Well, the name will do for now at least. As for the pink sea...it's always been questionable. When the new art comes in, I'll probably end up changing it around a bit.

I like many of the pallettes and the layouts are good.

If I find anything wrong I'll post it here.

RHS over at SSRG did find one problem:

I added the blocks purely for kicks. :(

The only other problem already mentioned is that Star Light Zone (Sparkling Light Zone) doesn't work at all due to a wrong pointer to the new art.

These bugs will be fixed in v3.0
