Sonic X Shadow Generations thread, movie level out on the 12th

    I think it could be exactly like that for a "mini-level" during a stage, it's even the same kind music used in Radical Highway. Speaking about it, I guess that is confirmed it's Jun Senoue AND Teddy Loid that worked on Vengance is Mine remix from the Black Doom mini-boss chase theme.

    Westopolis is probably the level scene from the trailer when Shadow flies towards the Biblically Accurate Doom form.

    In other words, it might be the final level.

    Actually, now that I'm looking at it, he couldn't have chosen a worse example from the trailer to claim it was Westopolis -- you can clearly see from the background that the scene is set in the open zone hub world (the castle spires are the most obvious part), and the only bit of level geometry visible is...the red golden gate-style bridge, which is exclusively from Radical Highway. It looks like either more level pieces get added to the open zone with time, or else maybe doom mashes the stages all together for a boss fight or challenge or something.

    Tbh, a very large portion of this game is probably reused assets, considering the nature of the game is revisiting old levels.

    There's literally a Yakuza car asset in the movie stage btw... a re-use of asset that comes from a game that re-uses assets all the time...

    I mean Frontiers basically reused the fish from yakuza series in the Big's fishing minigame, a reason why they were so detailed

    Gentle reminder that Sonic Generations' OST has a lot of tracks from past games, that are only used in mission levels in stages that otherwise use a different theme.

    If it wasn't for the fact they're saying the game's not gonna be that long, I'd predict the game would top Rise of Lyric as my 2nd favorite in the series. Still, as someone who finds Sonic Gens wholly unremarkable I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited.

    Eh, they heavily exaggerated Frontiers' length in marketing too.

    If I had to guess, it's probably closer to 60-70% of Sonic Generations' length.

    I don't think they exaggerated Frontiers' length I just think they didn't expect that people wouldn't like Cyberspace and just avoided it for the most part and as a result also dodged the Gaurdians, at least that's how I and my friends played it.

    Did they? I seem to remember them saying it would take around 20 hours for a normal playthrough, 30 if you were going for a hundred percent. That was spot-on for my experience.

    Either way I do agree that this should be taken with a grain of salt, since I'm pretty sure there aren't nine different two-act stages in here, but still.

    While there isn't as many stages the time lost from that seems like it'll be made up for with the hub world. Challenges are still a mystery of course, but it could very well hit 80-90 like Sonic Gens given Shun saying it has just a little less content. All about waiting and seeing, either way I'm pretty satisfied with what I've seen so far.
