There's only 2 city stages so far, Radical Highway and Sunset Heights. Granted I would prefer more of an expanded colour palette of levels since it is all very grey and orange. But I don't think it's falling into the Gens city problem.

  2. Chaos Island’s inclusion is pretty odd, who are they trying to appeal to with that considering it’s easily the most disliked island of Frontiers? I guess it’s just easier for them to reuse and they can tie Doom into the ancients to attempt to justify it.

To Sega, who didn't give them enough money to create new assets.

Hey, at the very least Chaos Island had, in my opinion, the best Titan Fight, unless you want to count Supreme End.

I think it makes sense. Kronos Island is a grassy plain with ruins which is covered by Kingdom Valley. Ares Island is a desert canyon which is covered by Rail Canyon. Combine those with Sunset Heights, the gravity-defying ARK, and the inevitable Shadow 05 pick, it seems pretty well-rounded.

Also, none of what's in the trailer is in Frontiers. They're re-using the assets and ruins prefabs, but the actual design is brand new. Maybe we'll finally get a proper indoor volcano area?

Also, this game really likes its straight hallways, doesn't it?

    Something interesting I noticed:

"Beyond Another World" huh? Could that be what these Radical Highway portions are called or is it more theming?

Ngl, I have to agree that the gameplay still doesn't look great to me either. Better than I initially thought, but ultimately not particularly good. And that's unfortunate because it's by far the most important aspect of, you know, a game. But in every other way, Shadow Generations is absolutely killing it to a degree I daren't have hoped for.

Are we going to go through this "it looks like Forces level design" thing every single time they show us short snippets of level design meant to show how fast and cool the game is?

I imagine the level design will be more of what they gave us for Space Colony Ark which in my opinion was pretty good. Still fairly linear but with branches, not unlike SA2. Let's not get carried away folks.

It doesn't look like good level design. This, Colours, Forces, Frontiers. They don't do it for me. Generations and Unleashed don't always get a pass honestly.

Most of the doom powers look cool but I have some concerns:
    1. Doom launch looks cool but are those punches/kicks necessary prior to the upward kick that actually launches enemies? Like if enemies have HP bars then this makes sense. If not then I wish we could just immediately kick enemies upward and not waste time
    2. The doom morph looks fun for going down slopes but the grappling hook mechanic seems to actively kill shadow’s momentum and slow the game down. I’m hoping this is just the player being intentionally slow to make the move look cinematic. Because I love the idea of giving Shadow a grappling hook and it would feel fantastic to use it to keep his speed

All the other doom powers look great! I’m VERY impressed by this. This has gone from a “maybe” purchase to a “definitely” purchase.

  18. It works in Unleashed because the hallways are short...being a much faster game and all.

But one of those areas was a giant boxed room with nothing in it. Now there are 2 exits to that room and you must be able to reach the other one somehow, but as it was shown...there was literally nothing in there.

I agree with you, but it's funny we ended having a FORCES level after all.

I'm honestly most curious to see that one Forces level because I wanna see how much they improved the level design over the original game.

So the chaos island area… that looks like a section of the overworld that resuses assets to me. There may be plot reasons for this but atm I don’t think this is a “stage” the same way that the “ark” is a stage with an act 1 and 2. Tbc the chaos island area looks fun but I’m just curious if people agree or disagree regarding it being in the open zone area
