Sonic X Shadow Generations thread, movie level out now

Speaking of art styles who else besides me likes Black Doom’s new look. He looks a lot better.

 

It's one of the better cases of trying to update the appearance without losing the charm of the original.
Looking at you, Gens Perfect Chaos -- I've grown to appreciate it but it gave me shellshock at first, ngl. lol

Really makes it look like something that evolved from ideas for Wizeman from NiGHTS. Selph, mayhaps? :P

 

Definitely looks less so like he was plucked from a completely different franchise and shoved into Sonic, that’s for sure.

 

It's a simple improvement that yet makes a good difference.

 

I'm still mad that they mad him so blobby after SA1. he's a snake, and we know this because Lost World is nothing but snakes and water in terms of theming! lol

Also I don't like the introduced green coloring either. His earlier forms didn't have that so it makes him look too different from them.

 

Lol, I was just referring to the now-solid armor. I forgot about the other stuff.
I like the green tongue but the rest is a smidge eccentric, I'll give you that.
The blobby-ness I'm not seeing though.

 

I thought he was a dragon.

 

Outside of the green, Gens’ Perfect Chaos looks decently close to the concept art we’ve seen of him from SA’s development. It was pretty cool that they’d return to reference materials from back then and try to recreate the team’s original vision.

Holy shit- seems like a fair deal for $250. I'd prob pay $100 just for that statue alone.

 

Doesn't ship until July. Knowing LimitedRunGames, that's July 2028 with some luck.

 

This came out of the blue. Definitely will consider it. I've already pre-ordered ordered the Japanese version for PS5, so maybe I'll do this on Switch and call it a day?

 

That Sonic/Shadow Dreamcast statue sure would go nice with my Mania Genesis statue...

The Dreamcast jewel case also slaps.

 

Very rarely do the games I'm into get this tier of collector's edition, but dang if that's not some sick stuff. Though it sure is more for SA2 fans than Generations fans.

 

Was already going to pre-order the digital deluxe on Steam and then a physical version on Switch for my sister so I could get Gerald’s Journal…guess I’m triple dipping like the slut I am and getting myself a Switch copy. I still kick myself for not getting the Mania CE, no way am I missing out on another sick statue.

 

I remember when Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy was coming out, they gave employees crystal PS1 casings.
Cool to see it as preorder bonus here.
