SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS - Dark Beginnings

Oh I 100% expect the case to be that few others cared by now. Between SA2 and TTo50YA, there is an implied divide between GUN and the President themselves, which justifies Rouge's entire behavior in SA2 working for "the government" (the President) trying to uncover buried secrets about Project Shadow from "the government" (GUN, an international force) for "the government" (The President) while fighting against "the government" (GUN)

New material that doesn't comparatively care pretty casually throws GUN and the President together, so that distinction no longer matters, and SA2 is full of plot holes again lmao

What's baffling is that the rules for Shadow are being maintained to a fault, (probably due to the format of the rules that Maekawa alluded to with the "internal templates") like his hatred/dislike for humanity, while the details that existed to justify why that might be aren't particularly valued anymore, as they get retconned. It's kind of falling apart in real time imo

 

Just a heads up, but a clip from the Playstation exclusive footage of Dark Beginnings is already appearing on twitter.

I'd say go for it, it's for a prologue animation, not the actual game. Especially since some of us only have the X-Box and PC versions. Just note what it is, of course.

 

It's kind of a prologue video? The PS version has an extras section on the main menu where you can watch Dark Beginnings, including some cut partially-animated scenes.

But this one cut scene is fully animated. No idea why it wasn't included as part of the animation on youtube:

Why did they cut that? I like how it gives the impression that the reason she was a science nerd was her fascination with Earth, which was out of her reach, and she longed for the day she'd get to experience it all first-hand.

Wow! That was really different. I think the finished product we got was tighter, but I kinda like how this version takes its time a bit more.

I think it's really awesome that this was released and we get to see it.

 

Why are we using spoilers for any talk of the cut scenes?

 

That song goes pretty hard.

 

Should have been the credits theme for Shadow Generations instead of a medley.

Glad we finally have a proper version of this, just disappointed there’s only the one verse. Would’ve liked to hear a second verse and chorus before then going into the instrumental bridge.

 

Guess what, someone apparently tried something like that...

And, IMHO, it so damn fit well with that scene...
