You'd think releasing an Advance and Rush trilogy (or Rush duology + Colors DS, whichever you wanna call it) would be a no-brainer. They're still fondly remembered and I imagine in the Advance trilogy's case that just increasing the screen size would do a lot to smooth over its flaws, and reportedly the THQ publishing situation isn't even an issue.

You'd think so, but here we are. There's maybe some hope though. SEGA only recently started showing an interest in Sonic remasters. We got Origins, Colours Ultimate and now SXSG. I think we're probably going to see this become something of a trend over the next few years as SEGA continues to release a new game annually, and with any luck we will eventually see a handheld collection or two.

Go completely out of pocket and give us a berserk Emerl boss fight. I don't think I'm joking.

  4. Only possible boss fights I can see is a GUN related boss, maybe Sonic, and a Black Doom boss.

I am under the impression that we will get 3 bosses at max, could be just biolizard, sonic, and black doom for final boss

Yeah, I hope people aren't getting their hopes up for the amount of content in this. Iizuka is staying quiet about the amount of content, but I think that's because he doesn't want people to be disappointed about it and potentially reduce sales.

I think at most we'll get more mini-bosses with Doom's Eye, but otherwise yeah, probably just 3 major bosses.

  8. Didn't Iizuka already confirm Shadow mode isn't as long as Generations? And that game is already short to begin with. Expect 1-2 hours at best of content

Biolizard parallels Modern Sonic's Perfect Chaos fight, Sonic is probably the rival boss, and Black Doom is the final boss.

If this game has 6 levels and 3 bosses, it's already more than I expect.

What's surprising is why they'd even bother with the white space open zone thing if there's only a small handful of levels and bosses. What's the point?

To pad it with mini missions like Sonic Generations

Iizuka isnt even quiet about it, he confirmed in an IGN interview that it will have less content than Generations

Same reason Adventure 1/Unleashed/Generations bothered with hub fields really

These are contradicting statements because you very much can beat Generations in 2 hours. :V

Generations is hardly a beefy game, but it's not so short that we can be entirely certain about what this means. At its absolute shortest, Sonic Generations has eighteen acts, seven bosses and three misc missions (miscions?) with a bunch of optional side stuff. I don't think anyone's expecting Shadow Generations to get that much, but if there are even six to eight levels with the length of the one we've been shown so far, we're in for a decent time. We see "Space Colony ARK act 1" on the demo menu, so maybe there are only six acts between it, Kingdom Valley and Rail Canyon. But given that we have the city environment and the open zone, I'm willing to bet there's at least one more stage type. We know Biolizard is a boss, and it's reasonable to expect Black Doom will be too. So, maybe four zones with two acts a pop, and a boss for each? I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation (it's less than half as long as Sonic's side), but it's not an insignificant amount of content at all, it's as long as Shadow's campaign in 06.

How long Sonic Team thinks a game is and how long it is for the audience are two different things. "Audience" is also split between casual fans and hardcote fans.

I expect Shadow to be as long as how we feel how long Generations is (2-3 hours), which is shorter than how Generations is to Sonic Team and casual players (4-6 hours).

I dunno about that one. It might be shorter than I'm estimating, but they were spot-on about Frontiers being 30 hours to 100%.

4 Acts would be good, 6 Acts would be great, more than 6 would be awesome (but is not my expectation).

I know we've seen Rail Canyon and Kingdom Valley, but Space Colony Ark has a section that is seemingly Radical Highway/Westopolis, so we never know that the Kingdom Valley or Rail Canyon gameplay bits we've seen are actually an entire stage.

They're LIKELY entire stages, but we currently cannot be certain.

  18. I would be happy with 4 stages to be honest.

  19. 6 Stages. 3 Bosses is my sweet spot personally.

  20. 6 is probably the most likely, 3 zones with 2 acts each that cover SA2, Heroes, and 06 with Black Doom repping Sh05. Shadow's game only has a very small amount of truly distinct stages and I dont think Sky Troops or Digital Circuit are all that relevant to Shadow as a character, as much as I'd love to see them.
