Oh fuck, SEGA was genuily smart with this one.

Amazing way to promote both a movie and a game.

TerminalMontage missed the "don't remind people of Sonic 06" memo. Just cost this game a ton of sales smdh

Also, I like how SEGA is embracing more and more NiGHTS cameos / references.

It's noticeably tamer than his usual "something about" videos, which is to be expected from an officially sponsored video I guess. Still funny, but just not got the usual edge.

The amount of Sega references here was just heartwarming to see

  12. Yea that was immediately obvious, no way they'd let him fully off the leash for this.

But man, Sega's marketing has been killing it for this game. Between this and Frontiers' marketing, it's like they realized that thus IP is actually really popular and they should promote it.

If they let Terminal make the video he wanted then Maria would've been blasted in the face frame 1

I knew something was wrong once I noticed he was using the original music and not some SiIvaGunner high quality rip.
To be fair, Terminal also like to do wholesome stuff too (see the Sonic 2 and the other Yoshi animation).

In all fairness, this isn't the first time Sega has collaborated with a Content Creator to promote their games. Following the 20th Anniversary Contest, they partnered with the video game musical group Random Encounters on a few videos (I still think about their Rhythm Thief song whenever I hear the main theme from that game). Honestly Sega kinda catapulted them into success.

Now it's a bit different with Terminal and it's indeed been a decade since my example, but I don't think this is too surprising.

I know this topic is more for the upcoming re-release, but I had a desire to play the original release before the new one dropped and finish colleting all the PC achievements I've missed. In doing so, I was reminded of the game's Stereoscopic 3D option. Having recently bought a PSVR2, I figured why not? I was able to connect it to my PC thanks to owning a 2080 and was finally able to check out how the game runs in 3D.

It was certainly cool, had to adjust the 3D strength and the distance I played from the screen, but it was a neat novelty. Unfortunately the game was being capped at my monitors refresh rate of 60hz instead of going up-to the 120fps that was supported by the headset. After a lot of fandangoing and installing drivers, I was able to set up a virtual monitor with a custom resolutions and refresh rates, so I settled for 3840x1080 120hz, which might be odd, but with side-by-side Stereoscopic its essentially outputting a 1920x1080 image.

Has anyone else played Generations 3D mode? What were your thoughts?

It isn’t even the first time SEGA collabed with Terminal, they did it last year

and released a sonic video at the same time as this too

And in terms of direct collaborations of content creators for games, we just had Korone promoting like the couple recent sonic games , even had exclusive japan DLC for Frontiers

I actually tested it out a little bit on a New 3ds XL through Moonlight streaming recently. Aside from the game not running well just because it doesn't run well on my computer anymore it was kinda neat but I'm also not entirely convinced by 3d effects in general.
