    It's my Sonic 1 Hack. Its nothing compared to Megamix, but I hope to make due with art and layout. Simple and fun. If I get into ASM, I hope to implement a Spin dash, but that's it, nothing revolutionary. The is staying Sonic, for all those people who hate fancharacters (Everyone). There is no storyline, just Sonic stopping Eggman, as it should stay.

    I like the Marble screen, but it seems a bit pastel for my tastes. Eh.

    GHZ is generic, with the whole sunset thing. Doesn't look too bad, though.

    SBZ looks like a modded version of mine, but that's just me. I doubt it is.

    SYZ and SLZ are meh, generic at best.

    LZ is ultra blue... And it's deep blue, too. I suggesting brightening it up.

    I guess you're doing okay... I'd work on layouts first though, then worry about the palettes. Gameplay is much more interesting to me than a new palette, IMO.

    Whatever catches my fancy
    I'm not really fond of the palettes. Marble Zone in particular looks far too similar to Green Hill Zone for my liking, and the pastels don't work for me anyway.

    Tweaker, to be honest, I haven't played through your hack to make it to Scrap brain on your hack, but I will change it if it bothers you too much.

    I know of the Generic Sunset Palette, but To tell the truth, I haven't seen many Good ones.

    LZ was Ultra-orange, then Ultra Green, I tried to make mine Blue to green, fading, actually, but I noticed I messed up a bit and need to fix the underwater vines, as that controls the crest of the water color. And don't worry, I'll make good layouts, that's the main part of the Hack, the Palettes just make it look nice/different.

    Edit: Also, the level order is changed.
    Edit2: I fixed my earlier problem, It was one level that it looped in.

    ANOTHER Sunset Green Hill?

    Scrap Brain exterior also sorta reminds me of Sonic: The Lost Lands (ShadowFire). Marble Zone is my favorite, I tried doing something like that a while back just for fun but it didn't look as perfect as yours. Green Hill looks better than most sunset recolors I've seen in the past, but... The entire idea of Sunset Green Hill is pretty much stale as a rock now, what with Tweaker using it as a replacement before Azure Lake is imlemented into his hack, DDRMaxRomance using it in SoniQuest, and a number of hackers using it in the past. Can we try something a little... Different? =P

    Other than that, I like where this hack is going. Sexy pallettes and no silly fancharacters or ridiculous stories usually means that it must have some value. Keep up the good work.

    The Sunset Green Hill is there because there aren't enough good ones. But I was thinking of a night time one, but I'd need someone to help me with the art for the BG, as I would need a rotating star palette and to get rid of the clouds. If you know anyone willing to do such, I would change it in a heartbeat, even though I like it as is.

  11. I luff the palettes. They're probably the most original palettes I've seen for Sonic 1 yet. Though, that's not saying much, because a majority of Sonic 1 palette hacks look like a 5-year olds first try in Paint. But anyway, keep it up. I'm hoping for some original level layouts too.

  13. He speaks the truth. There is so much Sunset hill's these days it boggles the mind. This, however, is the best one yet, in my opinion.

    Marble Zone is definatly the best of the lot, however the grass looks a tad strange. GHZ I've already told you about, and Spring Yard is quite nasty. The purple/pink FG really looks like an eyesore, and the BG isn't all that great either. You may wanna redo it. LZ FG is fine, however, the above water BG looks too dark, it doesn't fit in well with the other colors. SLZ is alright, but that blue building doesn't look good. It looks like you killed the shading. Make it's blue more closer to grey, and it should blend better with the rest. SBZ is OK, but that blue in the BG almost feels like it's underwater.

    So far, you're doing pretty good. These are far better than the pallettes you have in S3K.

    Green Hill looks ok, Marble looks awesome.

    Although some ppl don't like your SpringYard palette, I do.

    Labyrinth's & StarLight's green & blue are too similar.

    I really don't like your Scrap Brain background. Since the buildings are pitch black (or at least appear to be) the atmospheric effect is gone.
    You should make the sky somewhat brighter and give the buildings a darker blue.

    Edit: abt making a Green Hill night palette: Fuzz is already doing that in his Shadow hack and it looks freakin' awesome.

    You can't see the atmispheric effect at the bottom of the level. Hence why Sonic is dying.

    Wow! Someone actually recognizes something that I did, that looks similar in someone else's hack.

    I will admit, it looks like a modified version of MINE. I found Tweaker's SBZ palette to be almost identical to mine, but that's what happens when you work offline for a long time, then release it. Tweaker and I tend to get the same ideas, but it's usually he that gets it done before I do.

    Anyway, looking nice. I'd gladly host it, with the right information, of course.

    I did not copy off anyone, that's just the way mine turned out, and Shadowfire doesn't seem to have any problem with it at all.

    Alright, The layout for Green hill Zone is all done, And I started on Springyard ART. I am now using SonED2, but I can't Build the rom, Because when I do, It ends up at 1 KB. Something is wrong, but I can't find out what.

    But regardless, Should I release every zone Layout I finish, Every two Zones, or every three?
