Ther's a bunch of videos on IGN that I don't think we've talked about. For both the Wii and next gen versions.

 

Wow. Am I the only one who's beginning to realise that the two versions really do appear to be vastly different in terms of the stage layouts? Also, from the looks of things, the focus on th nextgen versions seems to be Mykonos, while the focus on the Wii/PS2 version seems to be High Europe. When I see something like that, it makes me think of the possibility of console-exclusive stages for some reason, which would be awesome. Heck, even the HUDs are different. It's like we're looking at two completely different games.

 

The Wii/PS2 versions seems to have a much more 2D orientation as opposed to the 360/PS3 being much more 3D oriented. While these two games seem to share the same story, I think this may be one game that could wind up being bought twice (providing it's worthy of being purchased.)

 

Ya know, in saying that Chip is like Omochao, do you think you can pick him/her/it up and throw it at enemies too?

 

Doubt it, it only appears when you hit a help bubble.

 

He's more like Tikal than Omochao.

But it's good to see he doesn't speak the whole explanation. He just goes "SONIKKU!!" and you read the rest. I also liked the lack of talking in mid level, something I've disliked since Heroes started doing it.

 

Yeah, I'm probably going to get both the Wii and the 360 versions. Wich I'll be getting first depends mostly on whether the motion control make the Werehog sections better or worse. It would be nice if the game would just let me use my classic controller, though. But if they are going to be having downloadable stages, that's probably not going to happen on the Wii, but Sega does have DLC for Samba De Amigo, but an entire stage seems like it would be bigger.

In the Wii version, leveling up increases the length of your boost meter, and considering that it's much shorter in these new videos (of the 360 version), I'm guessing it's going to do the same thing.

...Does anyone else think that the EXP pickups sound like something from NiGHTS Journey of Dreams? (referring to the sound they make when you pick them up)

E: I just noticed something: On the Wii version, when you hit the boost, it consumes an entire chunk of the bar in exchange for a pretty long period of boost, whereas the 360 version the boost just runs for as long as you hold it. So you won't have to shake the Wiimote for the entire time you plan on boosting.

 

I bet that the 360 version is the best to get first, because there is a possibility that the Wii levels could be downloadable (That would just be so awesome). However I like the little differences in the games. The Wii version also does it right in that time gives rank, not score, which means you can die and not have to start over again (I'm looking at you Sonic 06)

Well I said they could. If they don't I'll just buy both when the Wii version becomes cheaper.

 

I don't remember if the Windows Live thingy has been cleared yet, but:

So no PC version of Unleashed, the Windows Live mention at Unleashed's page is about that, I guess =P

 

Yeah, but that's not a real connection. The Xbox 360 has MSN not BECAUSE of windows live, but despite it. The 360 has had MSN since before windows live was around.

 

Here's what you do guys.

Buy the 360/PS3 version. Wait a month. Try to get the Wii/PS2 version for Christmas.

Two games for one price.

 

The inverse is better. Why?

You save $10.

 

But if the Wii version ends up being the more fun of the two, I'd rather not play it first.

 

That would require to have Unleashed have some connection to the messenger for it to be why it's there, which I highly doubt,

 

Maybe it has something to do with downloadable content?

 

So much for finding a torrent of Sonic Unleashed for the PC

Ah, well, I'll still rent the game for the 360.
