I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.
You know how many each stage has by looking at the number of medals to collect on the map. Most of the Sun Medals are in Night Stages, though.

I would fire up a YouTube medal-collecting guide and see what medals there are in stages you've already scoured, if I were you. Medals are hidden in some of the most unexpected places sometimes.

EDIT: By the way! I has gameplay vidz!!!111!11one

    Apotos - Windmill Isle, Act 1 + Act 2
Mazuri - Savannah Citadel, Act 1
Holoska - Cool Edge, Act 1
Spagonia - Rooftop Run, Act 1
    Chun-nan - Dragon Road, Act 1
Shamar - Arid Sands, Act 1
Empire City - Skyscraper Scamper, Act 1
Adabat - Jungle Joyride, Act 1

I'm doing a presentation for college based around a cutscene from this game, does anyone know what the name of the robot that's always hanging around Eggman in the cutscenes is? It's not mentioned anywhere in the game...

It doesn't have a name, but apparently its known as "Ergo" among some parts of the fanbase, due to its analysis of Eggman's screw ups.

That will have to do for now, either that or simply "Robot" as I've currently named it.

"Ergo" doesn't have a name, but he does have a model number: SA-55

This is according to the Sonic Retro wiki.

Didn't want to make a new topic...

How come I'm missing a Sun Medal in Apotos? I got all of them in the stages and in the town itself, yet it still says I'm missing one. Is a villager supposed to give you one or something?

    SPEAKING of cutscenes...

Is it just me or after every shot-change does the video seem to "fade in?" I noticed it when playing on the PS3, and I forgot if it's on the Wii's cutscenes as well.

Either you're missing one, or you got all the medals in the game (thus getting an achievement/trophy) and didn't save. The latter is the position I'm in. My medal counts are both at 195 but I have the achievements.

Have you finished all of the Quiz Lady's questions? She gives you a Sun Medal if you speak to her again. There was a glitch where she didn't turn up sometimes; one of the add-ons includes a patch. I'm assuming this is the one you're missing.

I thought that was an art book. Any medal she gives you is before the art book, I'm sure.

Art Book #40, to be precise. In Shamar, if memory serves. (That bugfix should have been in an update patch, not a freakin' Adventure Pack...)

I'm working off my Sonic 4 hype by finally getting off my arse and actually completing Unleashed 360 right now. I got all of the Achievements ages ago, but there were a few collectibles to round up and now I'm getting the last of the S-Ranks, DLC included. God damn, but some of those DLC stages are a pain in the ass to S-Rank, but I do like some of the Werehog ones. It's a lot more fun when the stage is focused on platforming rather than combat, but you know something? That "stage" in Apotos where you fight a whole mess of enemies in that one round arena where you fought the first Titan in the story stage, with barrier walls popping up and all that, where the only way to S-Rank is the spam the ever-loving shit out of QTE finishers? That Act can burn in the deepest pits of the final level of Hell. What a pointless waste of programming.

Also, I'm kind of surprised that the trick to S-Ranking the "drifting" stage in Mazuri was to not drift at all. Seriously, if you just turn the camera in the direction you're turning AS you turn, you can make all of the corners without breaking stride provided you neither drift nor boost. And you can still S-Rank it just like that—no drift mastery or track-jumping required...

Mazuri and Adabat & Empire City DLC are now on EU PSN almost a year after they were released on Xbox Live and the US PSN.

    What.

Um... enjoy your beta Mazuri night stage, I guess?

The fact that DLC levels take place in scrapped/unused areas is pretty much proof that it was no more brand new content than the DLC in 06. Unleashed had us download object files and new files that we KNOW existed long before the release of the game. In 06 we just had unlock keys to get at extra content on the disc. It's all the same really, because none of it (or only a very tiny amount) was made after the each games release.

EDIT: Aye, it didn't make sense. Any better now?

I can't really understand what you're getting at. What is "it"? What do you mean by "important"?

My understanding is that all the scrapped areas were unfinished; look at the Adabat water chamber in the release game and DLC. Or the other half of Shamar.

So, there was polishing between release and DLC launch.

Also, has anyone got onto that platform behind the goal platform in the beta Mazuri DLC yet?

Not enough polish, in some cases. Those bobsled sections in the Holoska DLC (not the hard-mode stage, the extra act) are a pain in the ass. Cool concept, but the physics get wonky whenever you come in contact with the edge of the ice tracks.
