I can barely make it out, but I can vaguely see a "DR." where the title would be visible, making me think it either says "DR. EGGMAN ADVENTURE" or simply, "DR. EGGMAN".

Oh my, that's a nice find.

I want both of those games. Shame they're just a neat fan nod.

Sorry to bump the topic, but I just find drifting in Sonic Unleashed infuriating. In Savannah Citadel Day Act 2, you're supposed to run a figure-eight course for a couple of laps, and drifting helps. I can drift the first turn fine, but come the second turn, I try to drift and fly off the course. I've even tried turning before drifting, but I might need some more specific tips besides "Turn before you drift" and "Stop boosting before you get to the corner." Like, how much should I turn, when should I start the actual turn, and when's the right time to stop boosting?

^ Everybody tries to describe drifting around that course in words and fails, so it's probably easier to show you. Stop boosting as you approach the curve, angle in, then use the shoulder buttons/triggers to drift (not the slide button, which can register a slide instead of a drift).

See? My words were everything you didn't want to hear, but it's all that can be said.

inb4 "lol, try just running around the course without drifting, it works!" True, but that doesn't teach you squat for later levels. >_>

So I bought this for the PS3.

Good fun, not a bad use of $15.

Please tell me I unlock drfting shoes some time soon though.

When approaching a turn, follow whichever green stripe is closer to the outside of the turn. Start your drift right where it starts it's bend. Stop boosting long enough before a turn that you have almost returned to normal running speed before beginning your drift. The second turn is the sharpest, only use a moment of boost during the straightaway prior to it. Hit boost if you find yourself going too tightly.

    You start with the ability.

Seriously, it's a lot easier and it guarantees an S Rank.

Are you saying that you don't know how to drift? You have to hold L2 or R2 while holding the left control stick left or right.

Fix'd. The triggers don't really make sense because it doesn't matter which one you press. Circle is placed much better.

What? If you use the circle button, you have to delay to hit the other buttons such as X. I prefer to keep my finger over the X button at all times. I usually use the L2 button instead.

I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.
^ This is my preferred method of control, personally. It's handy to be able to drift without delaying other button presses, and it ensures that you don't accidentally slide instead.

Incidentally, it also means you can Boost and Drift at the same time (otherwise doing so would be a pain on the ol' fingers, as the appropriate face buttons are on opposite sides).

The drift-boost combo is actually encouraged in some places, as there are times when you can drift-boost through a group of rings and suck up a whole lot at once, which rewards you for pulling off a precision drift that's frankly pretty tough to pull off until you've mastered controlling the thing. Kind of like grenades in certain other, less colorful games, except marginally easier.

  13. The drifting in the HD version of Sonic Unleashed was rather unweildly and imprecise to use at the start.
The HD version in general had a ridiculous learning curve as it is. I mean Jungle Joyride Day (Adabat) was not bad as a stage, and was rather challenging in a fun way, but the jump in difficulty when you reach Crimson Carnival (Eggmanland) is just ruthless.
I still maintain, that is the single most diffiicult 3D Sonic level in existance.

  14. I agree with you completely on that. I thought I was finally getting the hang of the speed of the game by that time, but Eggmanland just owned me to the point that I had to put the game down for a few minutes just to realize how difficult it was. Okay, now I'm just exaggerating, but it is a very difficult stage. It took me a few tries to progress.

    Crimson Carnival? >_>

But yeah, it totally is the hardest stage in a 3D Sonic game... shit took me an hour to beat when I finally did it the first time.

A few minutes? I stopped playing the game for two weeks before I decided to try again. With 60 lives. Which was reduced to 20 when I was done.

Lucky you. I was stupid enough to do it all in one night on my first run, even though the stage was pissing me off. Oh, and I had a pretty bad fever and a horrible sore throat at the time. Worst Eggmanland experience ever.

I didn't die that much in Eggmanland. I'm sure it numbers in the double-digits, but not by much. -.-'

Frankly, the only parts that gave me any real trouble were the times when the Werehog's camera decided to be a little bitch...

  18. The first time I played Eggmanland, I actually came out ahead. I ended up with 2 more lives than I started with!

Ironically, I got my ass kicked by Dark Gaia. Repeatedly. I fucking hate when the final boss introduces newer, lousier mechanics than the ones you've spent the entire goddamn game perfecting. :argh:

Well, I'm alternating between saying Fuck it to Mazuri Day Act 2 and trying again. I feel I'm getting a bit better with drifting (I don't fall off the second turn as much, and I even manage to get a lap in at times), so, onto the story part.

So, I'm guessing the next stage I have to go to is Adabat Day Act 1, unfortunately, I don't have enough sun medals, and I've scoured the town and Entrance Stages already. Which action stages have a good amount of Sun (and Moon Medals) that I can get? I have around 100 Sun Medals, and 80-something Moon Medals (for some reason Sun Medals are ridiculously easy to find, but maybe it's just because I do all my exploring in nighttime stages and oughta start exploring the day stages, E-rank be damned)
