It was most likely an assumption. If you've got the achievement for all Daytime levels, you should be done. Those should only have two acts.

But we'll be seeing more, as Sega's apparently releasing more DLC Acts.

I didn't write them, but I assume the writer originally grouped the Day and Night levels together to get total act numbers. If you guys want to clean it up to make nice looking (like a day and night category with proper acts and DLC, etc) go right ahead. The Wiki's for everyone.

I'm so frustrated I could throw a baby at a wall.

How come I can sit and play video games just fucking fine, but when I actually make a conscious effort I can't play for shit?! I still can't figure out that glitch after the first checkpoint in Adabat, and even then, I can't keep myself calm enough to play without slipping. I get so anal retentive to the point where if I don't hit the boost before a section of MOTHER FUCKINGLY UNECESSARY DASH PANELS I hit pause and start over. When I die anywhere in the level, I pause and start over. Get hit? Pause and start over. Pretty much anything that makes me stop will cause me to pause and start over. Even tripping over a crack in the ground will make me start over. And you'd think all the trial and error would help, but after doing nearly the entire level over and fucking over again to perfect a specific spot it reeeeaaaally starts to wear on me.

Thing is, I don't even know why I try. As racist as it sounds, there's no way I could beat that one Asian guy's times in Adabat and Empire City (which I can't get under 2:04 - On the dot too, no miliseconds). I've just been going through, trying to beat my own times (just to do it I guess), and I've been on Adabat for like three days now. I had little to no trouble getting through the level during the story mode, but now I just can't do it for some reason. Maybe I'm feeling a little too rushed.

That's how I'd play levels like Speed Highway in SADX. (Man, if there was a hack to get power-ups to respawn after restarting or dying in that game, I would be all over that bitch.)

This happens to me all the time. I can spend hours on something, constantly failing in the process, just to go back to that same game the next day and beat it on the first try.

TJ: Welcome to the angry, miserable world of speed running. Enjoy your obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I couldn't stand that speed running mentality. Yeah, I get going through a level without damage, but to that level is... well, I see it more frustrating that it really needs to be.

*is the record holder for Empire City and Eggmanland*

    I guess I'm just nuts.

Nonetheless, trying to beat that one guy's times at Shamar and Adabat is a little too much for me. I've got the pier-skipping part down to about a 30% chance, but I can only screw up on a lucky shortcut so many times before I just don't feel like playing anymore. I'm more than happy with my 4:07 at Adabat, anyway.

Speedrunning is frustrating, but it is satisfying to clinch a time that stays up there for awhile.

I almost had a 4:13 or so Adabat time.

Then right before THE LAST RAIL, I boosted too soon and flew off. I hate how before a series of Dash Panels you only have like a tick to hit the boost button. It's like...if you don't hit that button as soon as you hit the ground/rail, you can't boost again for another ten seconds or so, during which...you just watch the game. Seriously, would it've been that bad to let me boost while/after hitting a mother fucking dash panel? I really don't see the point of them. At all. Ever. Maybe after a checkpoint, to get you back into the action fast, but that's it. It used to make sense. Because they used to actually speed you up faster than you'd normally run.

Any other fucking time you hit a Dash Panel, you're already running as fast as Sonic goes, and the Dash Panel only slows you down. They've almost obtained the same reputation as spikes and pits: something to avoid during play. People aren't retarded, we don't need scripted loops and scripted running segments and scripted fucking everything to have fun. Fuck you Sega, let me play my fucking game, don't fucking do it for me. I'm not five, you don't have to fucking hold my hand.

    I'm drunk by the way.

But yeah, fuck Adabat. I wonder when we'll get more DLC? I wonder if Shamar's next?

I imagine it'll be monthly or bi-monthly for DLC packs. It all depends also how many of the continents will be getting packs. We can be sure of Shamar, Adabat, Chun-Nan obviously, Apotos, and possibly Mazuri (Drifting course on hard mode? I can hear people yelling in rage.) Empire City would be a delightful one, for sure.

I'd like to see two new Eggmanland Acts: One day and one night. Act 1 is cool and all, but you don't get to play as either one for long enough (specifically hedgehog Sonic). I'd like a 3-5 minute daytime Eggmanland Act, and even a standalone night Act.

I mean....seriously people, while the Werehog was a fucked up idea, Sega went about executing it rather well, or at least better than expected. The Werehog bits of Eggmanland were fun, and Empire City night is probably my favorite of the night stages. And the clock tower in Spagonia? Ahhhh.....

Even Eggmanland's balancing bits are an exhilarating obstacle.

Blame any problems with it on the camera, because it does move automatically, either too early or too late. I'll nail that shortcut eventually, but I don't mind the balancing. Some of it gets fun.

I really want to explore that area of Shamar night though. I could never get the barrels to stack right....

I haven't attempted that act again in quite a while, but since then I picked up on something I think a lot of people don't catch about the drift move: for sharp turns, start your drift up high, so that you cut down to the inside.
And the cause of approx. 20 of my deaths on my first way through the stage, which went a long way towards this clear time. No fucking thank you.

Don't remind me. That, more than anything else, is the reason I'm not very interested in a second attempt at that stage any time soon, and I think the werehog gameplay is the best thing for the series since SA1. DAMN that was irritating.

I've only played all the way through it like four times. One during the story, once to S Rank it, once to see how low a time I could get, and the first hotdog mission. Any other time I've done it, I can't beat it. I have trouble with beat the clock missions in that I just rush too much. I love the balancing parts, but it's about time to figure out that shortcut. They usually halt my progression through the stage, I dunno why I put up with 'em.

The hotdog missions for me were less of a problem of beating the clock but rather more of a problem with me having to survive. That's where the challenge came in. I can beat the level in about 14 minutes each time.

    I've beaten Eggmanland thrice.

Once in story mode (got a B and it took 52 minutes), once to get an S (got an A), once actually getting an S (and only barely, I actually died once, my score was 604k-ish).

    Hotdog missions? Uh... maybe someday.
