Your name is Retrogamer, yet somehow you want better graphics over gameplay? Shame on you.

The only problem with that is the game, according to EB Games, is supposed to be coming out on the 20th.

  3. So Dasher on TheGHZ noticed something about the street names in Empire City: E-123 Omega Rd? Blaze Rd? Rouge St? I wonder if this is going to be the only reference to these characters, a la the Chao Garden sign in Crisis City...

Well I'd rather have that then having them actually appear.

Silver Beach is on there too. I also think I saw a Shadow Rd earlier as well.

My biggest problem with the wii version is how you can't hold down the sonic boost like in the next-gen versions, most of the footage shown makes it you can only do like 2-3 seconds worth of boost.

If it really is like that, whoever thought that was a good idea needs to be punched in the throat.

Wii version looks like it needs some saturation there.

Seriously, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle looks better than that!

Seeing how it was made by the same people who made Sonic Rush, I can only imagine that they would encourage mindless boost spamming. I think you'll be safe.

New post as it's worth it.

Anyways, as for the Wii version... oh dear.

Referring to whatever the Nintendo Power review said (They gave it an 8. Not bad), here are the pros and cons:

I don't like the sound of over excessive werehog stages. Hopefully this is Wii exclusive problem/someone misinterpreted the article (Which is not up yet). Don't like the idea of repeating stages either. It's shallow replay value.

I'm assuming the "werehog controls taking some getting used to," is when you play with the wiimote and nunchuk combination.

Well "takes some getting used to" is a lot better than "The controls suck." Obviously it'll take a while to get used to, it's weird.

That's not that far off from how they described the Okami Wii combat controls, and those were pretty game-breakingly dire. "Takes some getting used to" is a pretty bad warning sign for me when it comes to Wii controls.

Or you could just use the Gamecube controller, unless that was fake. And on the IGN blog, the director said that there were more Daytime levels than nighttime levels, so they were either wrong or it's a problem with the Wii version.

Wasn't it said that the Wii/PS2 version would be missing two levels? Since we've already seen footage from Spagonia, Apotos, Shamar, Mazuri, Chu-Nan and Holoska, does that mean that Empire City and Arabat are the missing one?

I really question why they felt like making completely different day stages for the older systems; I think the gameplay part of the level structures should have been preserved, with the non-playing areas being greatly simplified or removed altogether to fit the systems. Because it feels obvious to me that the Wii/PS2 day portions are incredibly empty and unexciting; there are entirely too many segments where Sonic can't do anything other than keep boosting from a stretch of rings to another distant stretch of rings.

And I honestly don't think it's that bad per say; it just suffers a lot from the comparison to its superior cousin, and it really saddens me that I might have to settle for the Wii one, if I even bother to get it. I'm hoping the gap isn't as wide as between the real Prince Of Pesia: Sands of Time and its GBA "adaptation".

    Internet.
I don't think that's even a really level comparison to make. That was full 3D vs a 2D adaption, this is just 3D v higher caliber 3D.

For those who thought the controls for the werehog being bad comment is only for the Wii...Well, it turns out that after some research, Dimps is only reponsible for the daytime levels. Where is your God now, HD lovers?

Still there because they're talking about the waggle-fest loaded Wii version. Nintendo Power usually review Wii games with the Wii or Wii-Nunchuk controls unless they state otherwise since that's what the consumer will most likely be using.

Also, the Wii version had an Adabat trailer. All that's left is Empire City.

Or some levels that nobody has been talking about, or some second acts for certain stages like with Apotos.

Apparently levels don't have a set order that you have to complete them in. Link

After finishing the African themed Mazuri stage, players can choose to head to the European-inspired Spagonia or the chilly Arctic-esque lands of Holoska.

Right. It may most likely be other acts than whole levels, if that report that stated the whole two levels cut thing is even true. It had a lot of other grandiose claims on it too. Someone mind posting it again for the sake of discussion?

Passed Empire City is the spoiler level given away by the achievements.
